Logitech Launches Combo Touch for iPad Air (M2) & iPad Pro (M4)

Logitech has introduced a Chinese version of the Combo Touch keyboard case, specifically tailored for the latest iPad Air (M2) and iPad Pro (M4) models that debuted in May.

    Crafted from Sustainable Materials

The new Combo Touch emphasizes both portability and sustainability, being made from eco-friendly materials while also being Logitech’s slimmest and lightest keyboard case to date. It features a detachable keyboard for flexible use and a versatile kickstand that supports multiple viewing angles. Remarkably, the Combo Touch includes Logitech’s largest Multi-Touch trackpad ever.

    Keyboard Features

The keyboard boasts a standard layout with automatic backlighting, offering 16 brightness levels to ensure comfortable typing in various lighting conditions. It also includes shortcut keys for essential commands such as volume control, media playback, and screenshots, thereby improving workflow and user experience. The keyboard connects directly to the iPad, removing the need for separate charging or Bluetooth pairing.

For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, the Combo Touch is available in Graphite for the iPad Pro and Oxford Gray for the iPad Air. Here’s a breakdown of the pricing:

    • Combo Touch for iPad Air 11-inch: 1698 yuan
    • Combo Touch for iPad Air 13-inch: 1898 yuan
    • Combo Touch for iPad Pro 11-inch: 1898 yuan
    • Combo Touch for iPad Pro 13-inch: 2198 yuan

    Comparison with Apple’s Magic Keyboard

While the Combo Touch is lighter and slightly more affordable compared to Apple’s Magic Keyboard (which costs 2,399 yuan for the 11-inch and 2,799 yuan for the 13-inch), it’s important to consider the trade-off in features. The Magic Keyboard offers a superior user experience with a tactile feedback trackpad, a feature that the Combo Touch lacks.

Ultimately, the decision between the Logitech Combo Touch and Apple’s Magic Keyboard will depend on your priorities. If budget is a significant factor and you prefer a lightweight design, the Combo Touch is an attractive option. However, if a more premium experience with a tactile trackpad is crucial, then the Magic Keyboard might be the better choice.

In addition to unveiling the sixth generation iPad Air featuring the M2 chip at the Let Loose event, Apple introduced the fourth generation iPad Pro, which is powered by the latest M4 chip.

    Apple’s Latest M4 Chip

The standout feature of the new iPad Pro is the integration of Apple’s advanced M4 chip, designed using a second-generation 3nm node. This technological leap translates to a substantial increase in performance and efficiency compared to the previous M2 chip. The M4 chip delivers a CPU speed that is 1.5 times faster and a graphics performance that is up to 4 times more efficient. Notably, the M4 achieves double the efficiency of the M2, providing equivalent performance with only half the power consumption.

The 2024 iPad Pro is available in an elegant Space Black variant and comes in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes. Security features include Face ID for seamless authentication and a LiDAR scanner for augmented reality applications. The device is equipped with a quad-speaker setup to enhance the audiovisual experience. It is compatible with accessories like the new Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard. Connectivity options include USB-C 4, 5G, eSIM support, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. The tablet comes with iPad OS 17 preinstalled.
