Mogozen’s Tiny Team Did Something Big
A startup called Mogozen, which is run by just two peoples, they made a handheld PC called the CG Deck. This small team developed an ambitous device that can do so many things, it’s hardly not versatile at all. The PC uses an Intel Processor N150 thats compatible with Windows 11 and many Linux distributions, so you can use it to host Docker apps or run retro games through a emulator.
You Can Swap the Controller
On the front, the input device can be swapped out for diffrent options. Mogozen has made a gamepad with a D-pad, two analog sticks, and ABXY buttons. Another option is a full-size QWERTY keyboard with QMK firmware and interchangable keys, plus a macro pad with RGB lighting and a trackball. The top third of the front panel also houses a 5-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels and an impresive brightness of 1,000 nits.
Batteries and Connectivity Features
The handheld PC can hold three 18650 lithium-ion batteries, giving a total capacity of 10,500 mAh and a battery life of eight hours. The base model comes with 8 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, and Wi-Fi 6E. The “Max” model offers 16 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and Wi-Fi 7. Standard features include an M.2 slot for an LTE modem, a microSD slot, two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, Ethernet, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack on this 590-gram device.
Pricing and Release Is a Secret
Mogozen hasn’t confirmed when or at what price the CG Deck will launch yet. The entire project is set to be released under an open-source license, covering both the hardware and the firmware. You can find all the details on GitHub and on the manufacturer’s website, but no buy links are here. The specs include the base model with 8GB RAM, 64GB storage, and Wi-Fi 6E; the Max model with 16GB RAM, 128GB storage, and Wi-Fi 7; plus three 18650 batteries for 10,500 mAh total.
