Insta360 GO 3S 4K Thumb Camera Now Available from $238

Insta360 has introduced the new GO 3S, a 4K thumb camera designed for capturing action and vlogging footage. Available in black and white, the GO 3S is incredibly compact and lightweight, making it ideal for creators on the move. The camera features a versatile magnetic design for easy mounting and is splash-proof, ensuring reliable use in different conditions.

    Enhanced Resolution and Performance

The GO 3S marks a significant improvement over its predecessor, the GO 3, now offering breathtaking 4K resolution at 30fps, almost double the resolution of the previous model. It is powered by a newly upgraded high-performance chip that provides a 50% increase in CPU processing power for enhanced performance. Additionally, the camera features a new wide-angle lens for capturing expansive scenes.

Insta360 has focused on enhancing low-light performance in the GO 3S. Users can expect improved image clarity, brightness, and color saturation in low-light conditions. The camera also introduces a new “Natural Wide-Angle FOV” that minimizes edge distortion for a more realistic viewing experience. For those interested in selfies and vlogs, the new portrait filter softens and naturalizes skin tones. The GO 3S also supports Dolby Vision HDR, delivering vivid colors when previewing and exporting footage.

    Versatile Shooting and Control Options

The GO 3S offers various shooting and control options to enhance the user experience. It can be used independently or paired with an expansion compartment for extended battery life and additional features. The 2.2-inch flip touchscreen simplifies control, offering functionalities like charging, image transmission, and remote control. The GO 3S introduces a new “interval recording” function, which automatically captures shots at set intervals and uses AI-powered automatic editing to create highlight reels effortlessly.

For quick adjustments, the GO 3S features a horizontal/vertical shooting switch, allowing users to change the video aspect ratio instantly. The camera supports both voice and gesture control, making it perfect for group photos or noisy environments. Additionally, the GO 3S is compatible with Apple’s Find My network, enabling users to locate their misplaced camera using an iPhone, iPad, or MacBook.

    Streamlined Content Creation

Insta360 offers several features to streamline the content creation process. These include Quick Material Transfer for efficient footage transfer, App One-Click Preview for instant footage preview within the Insta360 app, and the optional Flash Transfer Companion accessory for even faster transfers. The GO 3S also includes various creative special effects like ND Mirror Effects and Trajectory Time-lapse to add unique elements to videos.

The Insta360 GO 3S is available for purchase on JD.com with prices starting at 1598 yuan (approximately $238 USD) for the single camera 64GB option and going up to 2798 yuan (approximately $416 USD) for the expansion compartment set 128GB option.

Insta360 GO 3S: 4K Thumb-Sized Camera with Apple Find My Support

Insta360 has launched the GO 3S, an enhanced version of its acclaimed, compact GO 3 (review) action camera. The latest model offers upgraded video recording capabilities and includes a feature that many users will appreciate – Apple Find My support.

Previously limited to 2.7K resolution, the GO 3S now supports 4K recording at 30fps. It also offers a 2.7K mode at 50fps for smoother slow-motion footage. While current displays might not fully utilize 4K playback, this upgrade provides futureproofing and greater versatility for recorded videos.

    Apple Find My Compatibility

One significant enhancement is the Apple Find My compatibility. By pairing the GO 3S with an iPhone, users can locate the small camera via the Find My app, as long as it has some battery life, whether it’s switched on or off.

However, Insta360 notes that the Find My functionality is “significantly limited” underwater due to Bluetooth signal interference. Additionally, the included Action Pod does not feature Find My support, requiring users to keep track of it manually.

    Additional Features and Improvements

Apart from 4K recording and Find My, the GO 3S offers several other advancements. The water resistance has doubled from 16ft (5m) to 33ft (10m), but this applies only to the camera itself. The Action Pod needs a separate Dive Case for underwater use.

A new MegaView FOV setting provides an ultra-wide mode with reduced distortion, while the Interval Video function allows the camera to turn on and off at set intervals for extended activities.

Slow motion capabilities have been improved to a maximum of 200fps at 1080p and 100fps at 2.7K. Timelapse videos now include a Dynamic Timelapse effect that crops the footage to simulate panning shots, making it ideal for capturing cityscapes or sunsets.

The GO 3S can also automatically detect and adjust settings for horizontal or vertical shooting, which is particularly beneficial for creating social media content.

    Design and Pricing

Visually, the GO 3S is nearly identical to its predecessor and is available in the same color options — black and white.

The pricing remains consistent with the GO 3. The 64GB model starts at $399.99, and the 128GB version is available for $429.99. While the GO 3 has a more affordable 32GB option for $379.99, spending just an additional $20 provides double the storage capacity.

Insta360 Go 3S Leaks: 4K Recording & Action Pod Support Revealed

Insta360, recognized for its remarkable 360 cameras, is preparing to unveil a new model, the Go 3S, on June 13th. Prior to the launch, well-known leaker Igor Bogdanov (@Quadro_News) has released the official renders and specifications of the action camera.

    Design and Features

The Go 3S appears to be a progressive upgrade over last year’s Insta360 Go 3. The renders show that it maintains the compact design of its predecessor, reminiscent of an oversized Tic Tac with an eyeball.

The most significant enhancement seems to be the move to 4K video recording. The Go 3 was limited to a 2.7K resolution at 30 frames per second. This increase in resolution could attract users who value higher-quality footage.

    Accessory Compatibility

The leaks also indicate that the Go 3S will remain compatible with the existing Action Pod accessory. This accessory converts the small camera into a more conventional action camera form factor, providing extra features along with the improved video resolution.

The action camera also surfaced on an Amazon listing (which has since been removed) that hinted at a 128GB storage option. The listing suggested a feature set mostly similar to the current Go 3.

    Launch and Availability

The global release date for the Go 3S is still uncertain. While its launch in China is scheduled for June 13th, there’s no information yet on whether this will be an exclusive release or if a broader release is in the works.

Overall, the leaks point to a modest upgrade for the Insta360 Go series. The transition to 4K video recording is a positive development, but specifics such as pricing and worldwide availability are still unknown. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Insta360 to get a complete understanding of the Go 3S.
