    A new gaming smartphone from Asus, the Asus ROG Phone 8, is set to be unveiled on January 16, 2024. This smartphone is expected to compete with the recently launched Red Magic 9 Pro series and other smartphones in the same market segment, considering its recently revealed specifications and features. The ROG Phone 8 Series will launch in three models: ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate. The smartphone has already appeared on public certifications and recently surfaced on Indonesia’s TKDN, confirming its 5G connectivity and upcoming launch in Indonesia.

    Asus Rog Phone 8 Series Design and Feature Details (Expected)

    The design of the Asus Rog Phone 8 and Rog Phone 8 Pro differs from their predecessors. Both models now feature a prominent camera module along with the RGB logo. The Rog Phone 8 has a matte finish on the rear, giving it a premium look. On the other hand, the Pro variant comes with a glossy back.

    In terms of display, the ROG Phone 8 Series is expected to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a 165Hz refresh rate and 2500 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, the smartphones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The ROG Phone 8 Pro is rumored to come with a 5,500 mAh battery with 65W charging, as per the 3C certification. Additionally, both smartphones will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a 5-magnet speaker. The storage variants for the ROG Phone 8 Series will include 16/24GB RAM and 512/1TB UFS 4.0 storage.

    Connectivity options for both smartphones include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. The standard variant will come with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

    Camera and Dimensions

    Moving on to the camera setup, the Pro variant of the ROG Phone 8 Series will feature a 32 MP selfie camera, a 50 MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor, a 13 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32 MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom. The smartphone measures 163.8 x 76.8 x 8.9mm and weighs 225 grams. However, information about the standard variant’s dimensions is not yet available.
