Caviar Launches Gold and Titanium Huawei Mate X6 and Mate 70 RS

Dubai-based luxury brand Caviar has launched a new and beautiful line of Huawei smartphones that draw deeply from Chinese cultural and historical influences. This collection, named “Dragon Spring,” includes the Huawei Mate X6 and Mate 70 RS, both elegantly embellished with precious metals and remarkable craftsmanship.

    Design and Specifications

Among the highlights of the collection are the Forged Dragon and the Huang He models. The Forged Dragon, inspired by the Huawei Mate X6, showcases a sleek black titanium exterior with a unique texture that is inspired by the ancient Chinese art of multi-layer sword forging. This traditional technique, which comes from Longquan, creates a captivating design on the phone’s surface, honoring craftsmanship that has been refined over centuries.

    Huawei Mate Series

The Huang He, based on the Huawei Mate 70 RS, is nothing short of a work of art. It features a stunning 18K gold bas-relief representation of the Huang He River, also known as the Yellow River. This famous waterway is greatly respected as the birthplace of Chinese civilization and represents the ongoing spirit and evolution of the nation. The detailed workmanship of the bas-relief highlights both the beauty of nature and the creativity of humankind.

Caviar has limited the production of each model to only 88 units, as the number eight is viewed as a sign of luck and prosperity in Chinese traditions.

    Additional Offerings

The collection also includes the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design Gold Dragon, which was introduced in September. This model boasts a 24K gold body produced using Double Electroplating technology and features intricate dragon designs that are inspired by ancient Chinese sword-making techniques.

The Forged Dragon is available for $12,200 for the 512GB version, while the Huang He starts at $11,490 for the 512GB model and goes up to $11,840 for the 1TB option.

This isn’t the first instance of Caviar’s luxurious offerings. Earlier in the year, they launched the world’s priciest iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is priced at an astonishing $301,070, and they also revealed the first luxury custom Apple Vision Pro, starting at $26,700.

Huawei Mate X6: Sleek Foldable Smartphone with No Camera Compromises

Huawei has unveiled its second foldable phone of the year, following the Mate XT which was launched at the end of summer. This time, the brand has opted for a traditional book-style foldable design with the Mate X6, which takes the place of the Mate X5 that debuted over a year ago.

    Specifications Comparison

In terms of slimness and weight, the Magic V3 still holds the title of the thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone. Nevertheless, the Mate X6 outshines competitors like the Galaxy Z Fold6, OnePlus Open, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold (currently priced at $1,499 on Amazon) with its thickness of 4.6 mm when opened, 9.85~9.9 mm when folded, and a weight of 239 g. Additionally, Huawei has integrated a 5,110 mAh battery that allows for 50 W wireless and 66 W wired charging.

    Display Features

Huawei has also equipped the Mate X6 with a 6.45-inch LTPO AMOLED cover display, which features a 1080p resolution along with a refresh rate ranging from 1-120 Hz. It boasts an impressive peak brightness of 2,500 nits. In contrast, the internal display of the Mate X6 measures 7.93 inches while maintaining the same refresh rate, though it offers a native resolution of 2,440 x 2,240 pixels and has a lower peak brightness of 1,800 nits.

    Camera Capabilities

On the camera front, Huawei has incorporated a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture, mirroring the setup of the Mate 70 series. The Mate X6 also features a 48 MP telephoto camera, a 40 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and 8 MP front cameras on both displays. Like the Mate 70 series, there is no information available yet on international release. For context, the starting price of the Mate X6 in China is CNY 12,999 (approximately $1,793), which includes 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, while the model with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage costs CNY 15,999 (around $2,207).
