Magic7 RSR Porsche Design Launches Ultra-Premium Flagship Smartphone

Honor has launched another smartphone following the global releases of the Magic7 Lite and Magic7 Pro yesterday. The new device, called the Magic7 RSR Porsche Design, is now confirmed for global release and pricing, having first appeared in China at the end of the previous year.

    Pricing and Battery Capacity

Like Honor’s other Porsche Design smartphones, the Magic7 RSR Porsche Design is a pricier alternative to the Magic7 Pro. It boasts a larger battery in Europe, featuring a peak capacity of 5,850 mAh, while the Magic7 Pro is limited to a 5,270 mAh battery in Europe and the UK.

    Design and Features

The design of the Magic7 RSR Porsche Design is more intricate compared to the Magic7 Pro. Honor describes it as:

Inspired by F. A. Porsche’s idea of elegance and simplicity, the PORSCHE DESIGN HONOR Magic7 RSR maintains the symmetrical camera module of the HONOR Magic7 while embracing the latest in sports car aesthetics, showcasing dynamic elegance. This blend of heritage and modernity offers a unique charm, featuring a central ridge that echoes the smooth hood lines found on numerous Porsche sports cars. This design not only looks good but also improves grip and comfort.

    Specifications

In terms of hardware, the Magic7 RSR Porsche Design shares similarities with the standard Magic7 Pro, including a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 50 MP main camera, and a 200 MP telephoto sensor. Additionally, this latest Porsche Design smartphone comes with a 6.8-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display boasting a native resolution of 2,800 x 1,280 pixels, with full panel brightness of 1,600 nits and peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits for HDR content. The Magic7 RSR Porsche Design will retail for €1,799, available in Agate Grey and Provence finishes starting on February 21.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim Expected to Outshine iPhone 17 Cameras

Apple is reportedly enhancing its supply chain to introduce variable aperture cameras in the next generation of iPhones, according to recent speculation.

    Improved Camera Capabilities

The upcoming device, expected to be called the 18 Pro and/or Pro Max, could offer better control over depth of field. However, it seems like Apple will only be catching up to competitors like Honor’s Magic7 RSR at this stage of the game.

    New Telephoto Lens Features

The “18 Pro series” may also come equipped with a sophisticated telephoto lens to complement the new camera capabilities. Reputable leaker Digital Chat Station has suggested that this lens will be based on innovative technology.

    Advanced Zoom Technology

This camera module could feature a highly advanced “multi-fold” type of periscope zoom, unlike the newer all-on-prism lens (ALoP) that’s associated with the anticipated Galaxy S25 Slim.

Apple’s 2026 iPhones might offer significant improvements over the current 16 Pro series, which is priced at $1,024.97 in Renewed condition on Amazon. However, they may still not be as advanced as certain older Samsung models.

    Future Developments

The tech giant from Cupertino might also be working on its first variable-aperture iPhone, in tandem with its rumored first foldable device and small Dynamic Island displays.

Digital Chat Station noted this information via Weibo.

    Camera Features

While both the Magic7 RSR and the 7 Pro share advanced rear cameras, the RSR upgrades to a remarkable 200MP 3x optical periscope zoom camera with an f-stop of 1.88, improving low-light performance compared to the 2.6 of its predecessor.

Honor has just revealed the Magic7 and Magic7 Pro, but there is another model on the way called the Porsche Design Honor Magic7 RSR. Before it hits the market, details about its camera features have been leaked.

    A New Collaboration

The Porsche Design Honor Magic7 RSR will be the next version of the Porsche Design Honor Magic6 RSR. The name suggests a strong partnership between Honor and Porsche. At the launch event for the Magic7, Honor showcased the design of the Magic7 RSR, which closely resembles that of its predecessor, the Magic6 RSR.

    Design Features

The Honor Magic7 RSR keeps the classic Flyline Porsche Design style. It features a prominent hexagonal camera area on the back that includes three rear cameras. Unlike the curved edges of the Magic6 RSR, the Magic7 RSR has flat sides. This new model will come in Provence Purple, similar to the 2024 Porsche Macan EV, alongside the Agate Gray color option that was available for the previous model.

    Impressive Camera Specs

According to leaked information from Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Porsche Design Honor Magic7 RSR will sport a 50MP main rear camera with a variable aperture, along with a 200MP periscope camera. This setup matches the camera sensors found in the Magic7 Pro. The third camera, which is likely an ultrawide angle lens, is expected to be a 50MP sensor as well, although no specifics have been confirmed.

In addition to the Magic7 RSR’s camera information, the source also hinted at the arrival of a new Honor GT smartphone. This device is intended to compete with performance-focused lines from Redmi and iQOO. While it hasn’t been named yet, it is anticipated to be the successor to the Honor 90 GT, which launched nearly a year ago. This new phone is rumored to feature a flat display with a 1.5K resolution, a sizable battery, and possibly the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

Honor’s plans appear to be ambitious as they continue to innovate in the smartphone market.
