Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro: New Stem Design and Gesture Support

    Key Takeaways

    1. The Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro will have minor battery improvements over previous models.
    2. The design will feature a dual-tone look with a flat stem, moving away from the sharp design of the Buds3 series.
    3. Gesture controls and Multi Point connectivity will be retained, along with new head gesture features for notifications and calls.
    4. The Buds4 Pro will support 360° audio recording and include a “find my phone” feature with a redesigned case.
    5. The expected launch of the Galaxy Buds4 series is alongside the Galaxy S26 series, anticipated for late February 2026.

Over a month has gone by since Android Authority offered an initial glimpse of the Galaxy Buds4. At that time, the site mentioned finding an icon in the One UI 8.5 firmware related to the ‘Buds 4’ name. Later that same month, GalaxyClub hinted that both the Galaxy Buds4 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro would come with minor battery improvements compared to the previous models.

    New Developments

Recently, Android Authority has reportedly discovered more information by examining a Galaxy Buds app APK that Samsung plans to release with its future One UI 8.5 update. The Galaxy Buds4 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro, codenamed Handel and Bach respectively, seem to move away from the sharp design seen in the Galaxy Buds3 series (currently priced at $169 on Amazon). However, leaked animations suggest that Samsung is not following Apple’s design style with the AirPods.

    Design Features

The Galaxy Buds4 series is said to feature a dual-tone look with a flat stem. While Samsung has apparently eliminated the light bar found in the Galaxy Buds3 series, it will keep gesture controls along with Multi Point connectivity and adaptive noise cancellation. Additionally, Samsung has incorporated head gestures that enable users to reply to notifications and answer calls without needing to use physical controls or check their phones.

    Upcoming Launch

Furthermore, the Galaxy Buds4 Pro will continue to support 360° audio recording and will include a “find my phone” feature with a redesigned case. Samsung is currently anticipated to unveil the Galaxy Buds4 series together with its Galaxy S26 series. According to recent speculation, the company is planning to launch the Galaxy S26 around the end of February 2026.

Samsung Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro: Battery Upgrades vs. Old Models

    Key Takeaways

    1. The Galaxy Buds3 Pro were introduced last July but received little attention at the recent Galaxy Unpacked event.
    2. Samsung did not launch new earbuds this July, focusing instead on new Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Watch models.
    3. The upcoming Galaxy Buds4 series is expected to have improved battery life compared to previous models.
    4. Leaks suggest the Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro may have a design similar to Apple’s earbuds.
    5. The new Buds4 series is anticipated to feature a charging case with a slightly larger battery capacity, enhancing overall performance.

The Galaxy Buds3 Pro have been on the market for a bit now. They were introduced last July together with the more affordable Galaxy Buds3 (currently priced at $90 on Amazon). However, during the recent Galaxy Unpacked event, which focused on the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro didn’t get much attention.

    Samsung’s Strategy

Interestingly, Samsung opted not to release new earbuds this July. Instead, they expanded their lineup by introducing the Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold7, as well as the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, Galaxy Watch 8, and Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). According to GalaxyClub, the upcoming Galaxy Buds4 series is expected to offer better overall battery life compared to older models.

    Possible Design Changes

In a recent leak, it was suggested that the Galaxy Buds4 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro might resemble Apple’s earbuds more than the previous generation. GalaxyClub also mentioned that the new Buds4 series will come with charging cases that have a 3% higher rated battery capacity than the Galaxy Buds3.

This increase in capacity is speculated to rise from 500 mAh to 515 mAh, which should relate to a typical battery capacity of 530 mAh. It’s possible that Samsung will pair this battery upgrade with a more efficient chipset, aiming to market the new earbuds as having better battery life than their predecessors. However, we probably won’t find out more until the official launch of the Galaxy Buds4 series, which is expected to happen alongside the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026.
