DJI Goggles N3: New FPV Headset with 1,350 Nits for $229

DJI has officially launched its new first-person view (FPV) headset, which is specifically made for the Neo and Avata 2 (currently priced at $999 on Amazon). This release follows many recent leaks about the product. The Goggles N3 comes at a much lower price point than the existing Goggles 3, which sells for $499 in the United States.

    Pricing Details

For comparison, the Goggles N3 is priced at €269 in Europe and $229 in the US. It’s no surprise that DJI’s latest FPV headset lacks some features found in the Goggles 3. The Goggles N3, for example, uses 3.5-inch and 60 Hz LCD screens instead of the 100 Hz Micro-OLED screens that are in the Goggles 3. Nevertheless, the LCD panels still provide a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, peak brightness of up to 1,350 nits, and a field of view (FoV) of 54°.

    Advanced Technology

Moreover, DJI has included its OcuSync 4 (O4) video transmission tech in this model, enabling a maximum video transmission bitrate of 60 Mbps. The DJI O4 system employs a 2T4R antenna configuration to transmit 1080p/60 FPS video from distances of up to 13 km with a latency of just 31 ms. The Goggles N3 also features SyncSmooth technology, which helps to ensure smooth video playback while offering around 2.7 hours of battery life on a single charge.

    Specifications and Availability

As for its dimensions, the Goggles N3 weighs 536 g when including the battery and headband, and it measures 193 × 163 × 103 mm, not counting the antennas. DJI plans to start selling the Goggles N3 later this month across various markets, with the product listing already available. Additionally, the Goggles N3 will be available for order as part of the Motion Fly More Combo for €529 (about $565) in Europe, which includes an RC Motion 3 controller, three batteries, and a Two-Way Charging Hub. However, DJI has yet to announce the pricing for the US market.

DJI Goggles N3: Leaks Reveal €269 FPV Drone Headset Details

DJI is set to unveil a new first-person view (FPV) headset this week, likely compatible with at least the Neo and Avata 2, which is priced at $999 on Amazon currently. Although the company hasn’t made any official announcements yet, various insiders suggest that the Goggles N3 will be revealed tomorrow.

    Promotional Images Released

In the meantime, Jasper Ellens has released new promotional images, which are shown below. These visuals illustrate how DJI plans to advertise its upcoming FPV goggles. Additionally, some features are visible, including two antennas placed on top of the headset.

    Design Changes Noticed

From what we can see, the antennas are positioned differently compared to those on the Goggles 3, which are located much nearer to the edges of the device than the ones on the Goggles N3. Still, the Goggles N3 includes a couple of grilles, which will function as a sort of ventilation system.

    Compatibility and Pricing Information

Moreover, the Goggles N3 will be designed to accommodate eyewear, which is a plus over certain AR and VR headsets. Presently, DJI is expected to sell the Goggles N3 standalone for €269 in the Eurozone. Alternatively, the headset will also be available as part of the Motion Fly More Combo with the Neo for €529.
