TCL A1 Projector Launches: 120-Inch Google TV Entertainment

TCL is widely recognized for its large-screen televisions, but it claims that its latest Projector A1 brings its display know-how into a more portable form.

    Features and Specifications

This new projector delivers FHD resolution instead of 4K, yet it can project an image size of up to 120 inches diagonally with simple plug-and-play setup. It also includes built-in Dolby Audio speakers, which have a total output of 16W.

    Performance and Comparison

TCL promotes the A1 as providing Google TV content with "true-to-life colors and sharp image quality," but its brightness is capped at 350 ANSI lumens, while competitors like the JMGO PicoFlix and Dangbei N2 can reach up to 450 ANSI lumens.

    Design and Availability

The Projector A1 features a Versagrip handle made from aluminum, similar to the design seen in the LG CineBeam Q HU710PB. This handle can slide out from the front of the unit and double as a stand. Additionally, it has Light Sync ambient RGB lighting along its sides.

You can find the TCL Projector A1 available for purchase now through platforms like Amazon for a price of $499.99.

Dangbei N2 FHD Projector: Unique Gimbal Stand, Affordable Price

Dangbei has introduced the N2 FHD projector as part of its latest Game On Screen Up Promotion. The N2 is priced affordably and features a unique gimbal stand. This release follows the earlier launch of the DBOX02 4K flagship projector. Notably, the Dangbei N2 is officially licensed by Netflix and can project images up to 120 inches.

    Brightness and Stand Features

The N2 boasts up to 400 ISO lumens brightness for its Full HD images. The projector’s gimbal stand is specially designed for the N2, representing a significant shift from standard projector stands. This stand includes gimbal technology to keep the device stable, even when aimed at the ceiling. It offers a 210-degree range of motion and ensures that the 6W Dolby Audio speakers remain unobstructed.

    Operating System and Comparison

Unlike many projectors that run on Google TV, the Dangbei N2 operates on Linux and is available in a black colorway. On the other hand, the Dangbei DBOX02 projector features 4K resolution, Google TV support, and a low input lag. It also offers a much brighter output with 3,100 ANSI lumens.

The DBOX02 is recognized for its speed and brightness. It has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and supports pixel shifting to display higher-resolution content. This projector can cast images ranging from 60 to 200 inches.

    Pricing

The Dangbei N2 projector is listed on Amazon with a recommended price of $499. However, it may be available at a discount with a $100 coupon.
