Samsung to Launch Galaxy S24 FE with Exynos 2400e Worldwide

A recent Geekbench score has caught our attention. Traditionally, Samsung has opted for Snapdragon processors in markets like the US and Korea. However, this trend might shift with the introduction of the Galaxy S24 FE. According to the Geekbench results for the US variant, the S24 FE will feature the Exynos 2400e processor. Samsung has made the unexpected decision to equip this model with an Exynos processor globally.

Galaxy S24 FE Features Exynos 2400e Globally

The Galaxy S24 FE is set to include the Exynos 2400e, as confirmed by Geekbench. The main distinction between the Exynos 2400e and its predecessor, the Exynos 2400, lies in the Cortex-X4 core, which has been slightly downgraded from a peak speed of 3.2GHz to 3.11GHz. This adjustment aims to enhance battery life. Samsung’s reduction in clock speed is a calculated move, and it’s intriguing that the Exynos 2400e will be available to US consumers. This represents a significant shift for Samsung.

The SM-S721U: US Edition of S24 FE

The S24 FE model intended for the US market is designated as SM-S721U. Geekbench results indicate that this version will utilize an Exynos processor, specifically the model number S5E9945, which corresponds to the Exynos 2400. A closer inspection of the benchmarks reveals that the maximum performance core has been reduced to 3.11GHz. Although some might find this unfair, as many expected the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor in the US, the Galaxy S24 FE will indeed feature the Exynos 2400e worldwide.

It’s important for everyone to be aware that the Galaxy S24 FE will be launching soon, and it is hoped that it will be priced competitively, appealing to a broad user base. Enhancing the power efficiency of Exynos processors is crucial for Samsung to bolster the credibility of its chips. Consequently, the anticipation for the Galaxy S25 models, potentially equipped with the Exynos 2500, is growing.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE US Variant Launch Date Nears

Samsung is currently developing its next-generation budget flagship smartphone, anticipated to launch soon. The Galaxy S24 FE has been circulating in online rumors and reports, and recently, the US variant of this device has received certification. Here’s the information available so far.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Key Features and Appeal

The South Korean tech leader introduced the Fan Edition (FE) line of its flagship smartphones to offer premium features at a more affordable price than its main S series. These models maintain high-end specifications but make strategic compromises to reduce costs. For instance, my Galaxy S21 FE, which I still use and appreciate, belongs to this series. With the Galaxy S24 series starting at nearly 600 US Dollars, the Galaxy S24 FE is set to be the most budget-friendly option within Samsung’s 2024 flagship lineup, providing a premium experience without a hefty price tag.

Bluetooth SIG Certification Suggests Imminent Launch

The forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG database, identified by the SM-S721U model number. This is likely the carrier-locked version intended for the US market. The affordable flagship has also been certified in India, suggesting a global release is on the horizon. Additionally, its official support page became available earlier this month, indicating preparations for its launch are underway.

    Specifications and Performance Insights

Recently, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE appeared on GeekBench, a well-known benchmarking site, revealing several key specifications. It is expected to feature the Exynos 2400e chip, an underclocked variant of the Exynos 2400 used in the Galaxy S24 series. At least one version will reportedly include 8GB of RAM and will run on Android 14 OS with the OneUI 6.1.1 custom skin. The device is speculated to house a 4,565mAh battery, maintaining the same capacity as its predecessor.

Samsung’s upcoming FE device, the Galaxy S24 FE, is anticipated to be launched in October and reportedly resembles the Galaxy S23 FE. The South Korean version of the phone has been spotted on Geekbench, as noted by MySmartPrice.

Exynos 2400e: An Underclocked Exynos 2400

The Geekbench test results reveal that the phone is equipped with an in-house s5e9945 motherboard and a 10-core CPU, with one of the cores reaching a clock speed of 3.11GHz. It also shows that the variant includes 8GB of RAM. The phone scored 1625 in single-core and 5698 in multi-core tests. Additionally, the chipset is revealed to use the Xclipse 940 GPU.

The identifiers indicate that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S24 FE smartphone with an underclocked version of the Exynos 2400 chip, which also powers the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus.

    Clock Speeds and Performance

For reference, the clock speeds of the CPU cores of the Exynos 2400 chip are as follows: the Cortex-X4 is clocked at 3.2GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores at 2.9GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores at 1.95GHz.

It is evident that the Cortex-A720 and Cortex-X4 cores of the speculated Exynos 2400e operate at slightly lower clock speeds. While this may not significantly impact peak performance, it could help in better heat management since the FE model likely won’t have the same cooling solution as the more premium models with this chip.

    Additional Features and Specifications

Earlier leaks suggested that the S24 FE would come with a slightly underclocked version of Samsung‘s latest flagship chipset, Exynos 2400. The phone is expected to launch with OneUI 6.1.1 based on Android 14, featuring Galaxy AI capabilities. Additionally, it is rumored to include a 4,565mAh battery, similar to its predecessor.
