iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max Battery Leak Shows Minimal Improvements

With Apple’s annual September event nearing, speculation about the iPhone 16 series is intensifying. Recently, a leak from China (via GSMArena) has revealed potential battery specifications for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models.

    Battery Upgrades

The leak suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro will come with a 3,577mAh battery, which is about 9% larger than the iPhone 15 Pro’s 3,274mAh battery. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max may see a 5% increase, going from 4,441mAh in the iPhone 15 Pro Max to 4,676mAh.

Although these increases are not groundbreaking, they indicate Apple’s ongoing commitment to enhancing battery life. These slight capacity boosts, combined with improvements in chipset and display efficiency, could result in longer usage times for iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max users.

    Charging Enhancements

The upcoming Pro models are also rumored to feature a charging upgrade. Both models are expected to support 40W wired charging, up from the current 27W. Wireless charging speeds could also improve, increasing from 15W to 20W with MagSafe.

It’s crucial to note that these are just leaks, and Apple has not confirmed any specifics about the iPhone 16 series. However, given the reliability of some leak sources, there is a possibility that this information is accurate.

    Competitive Landscape

If these leaks are valid, iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max users might benefit from slight improvements in battery life and a more efficient charging experience.

However, with some Android flagships already boasting significantly larger batteries and quicker charging options, Apple’s enhancements might not suffice to bridge the gap entirely. We’ll need to wait for the official reveal in September to understand fully what Apple has planned for its top-tier iPhones.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 Rumored to Feature Enhanced Battery Capacity Compared to Galaxy Z Flip 5

Samsung is said to be working on its next-generation foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which are expected to be unveiled in July this year. Rumors about the upcoming Z-series foldable phones have been circulating since November, gradually leaking details about the devices. The latest leak, courtesy of GalaxyClub, reveals that the Z Flip 6 will come with a larger battery compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

    Galaxy Z Flip 6 to feature a 4,000mAh battery

The Galaxy Z Flip 3, which made its debut in August 2021, was equipped with a 3,300mAh battery. Samsung then increased the battery size to 3,700mAh on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, according to the new leak, the South Korean tech giant is testing larger batteries for the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

The leak suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will feature a dual-battery configuration. One of the batteries will have a capacity of 1,097mAh (rated value), while the other will have a capacity of 2,790mAh (rated value), resulting in a combined capacity of 3,887mAh (rated value). To put this into perspective, the Galaxy S24 is equipped with a 3,880mAh (rated value) battery, with a typical value of 4,000mAh. This suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will likely offer a typical battery capacity of 4,000mAh.

Larger displays and upgraded camera sensor

In addition to the larger battery, a recent report suggests that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will feature larger internal and external displays compared to its predecessor. While the exact size of the internal display is not yet known, it is rumored to come with a 3.9-inch outer screen. In contrast, the Z Flip 5 has a 6.7-inch foldable FHD+ AMOLED display on the inside and a 3.4-inch external screen.

Furthermore, it is speculated that the Z Flip 6 will replace the 12-megapixel primary camera of the previous model with an upgraded 50-megapixel camera sensor. Additionally, it is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy and feature the Galaxy AI capabilities.

A major upgrade over its predecessor

Based on the information that has surfaced so far, it seems that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be a significant improvement over the Z Flip 5. With a larger battery, bigger displays, and an upgraded camera sensor, Samsung’s next foldable phone is shaping up to be an impressive device. As we await its official unveiling in July, more details about the Galaxy Z Flip 6 are likely to emerge, giving us a clearer picture of what to expect from Samsung’s latest foldable phone.
