Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 4 Pro: Snapdragon 8s Elite with Huge Battery

The Redmi Turbo 4 has made its debut as a high-end mid-range smartphone, showcasing the latest Dimensity 8400 Ultra chip and a design reminiscent of the iPhone 16. Xiaomi is said to be developing a Pro version, which is anticipated to be one of the first devices equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Elite.

    Key Information Leaked

Before any formal news from Xiaomi, trusted insider Digital Chat Station has revealed some important details about this sub-flagship device. According to the latest information from the Weibo leaker, this phone will feature a significant battery, with a starting capacity of 7. In practical terms, this could mean a battery size exceeding 7,000 mAh.

    Impressive Battery Capacity

It wouldn’t be shocking to see such a substantial battery in the Redmi Turbo 4, considering that many recently released smartphones have similar capacities. A notable example is the RedMagic 10 Pro, which comes with a 7,050 mAh battery. Although no specifics on charging speed have been mentioned, previous leaks indicated the potential for 90 W fast charging (140 W Anker 737 currently priced at $106.48 on Amazon).

    Display and Build

Beyond the battery details of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, the tipster also noted that the phone will have a 1.5K resolution display. This display is expected to be flat. In terms of materials, the device will feature a metal mid-frame and a glass back, according to the insider’s information.

While the report did not provide any pricing details, earlier reports hinted that the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro might begin at around CNY 4,000 in China, which translates to roughly $545.

Xiaomi introduced the Poco X7 lineup last week, featuring the Poco X7 and Poco X7 Pro, both designed to be affordable while delivering strong performance. The Poco X7 Pro is powered by a Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, but how does it stack up against the Poco X6 Pro, which had last year’s Dimensity 8300 Ultra?

    Performance Comparison with Geekbench

In our Geekbench 6 tests, the Poco X7 Pro achieved a single-core score of 1,579 and a multi-core score of 6,100. For reference, the Poco X6 Pro scored 1,424 in single-core and 4,527 in multi-core tests. Looking at AnTuTu benchmarks, the Poco X7 Pro’s CPU score stands at 359,485, while the Poco X6 Pro lagged behind with a score of 290,365.

    GPU Performance Insights

When it comes to GPU performance, the Poco X7 Pro scored 574,754 on AnTuTu’s GPU test. On the other hand, the Poco X6 Pro achieved a respectable score of 514,295. While we lack 3DMark scores for the Poco X7 Pro, its counterpart, the Redmi Turbo 4, managed an impressive 4,086 on the Wild Life Extreme test. In contrast, the Poco X6 Pro recorded a score of 3,068 during our evaluations last year.

    Overall Benchmarking Results

It’s worth mentioning that the Redmi Turbo 4 generally outshines the Poco X7 Pro in most benchmark tests, even though both devices utilize the same chipset.

To sum it up, the Poco X7 Pro, along with its Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, clearly surpasses the Poco X6 Pro powered by the Dimensity 8300 Ultra. The new models present a 20% improvement over last year’s devices in terms of both CPU and GPU performance. While the gains are notable, they’re not exactly revolutionary.
