    Keychron has introduced the Q1HE magnetic mechanical keyboard, featuring a CNC-machined aluminum frame and a gasket mount design. Utilizing Keychron’s second-generation magnetic switches, this keyboard is available for 1,321 yuan.

    Connectivity Options

    The Q1HE offers wired, 2.4G, and Bluetooth connectivity choices. It uses a web-based driver for firmware updates, RT quick trigger adjustment, key travel customization, and other settings. Outfitted with custom Jixian second-generation magnetic switches, the keyboard has an adjustable trigger key range from 0.2 to 3.8 mm and supports RT quick trigger with 0.1 mm precision.

    Design and Build

    This keyboard provides both wireless (2.4GHz and Bluetooth) and wired connection options, with wired mode latency as low as 3ms. Made from 6063 aluminum alloy using CNC machining, the Q1HE is available in anodized black and powder-coated white finishes.

    Enhanced Typing Experience

    A gasket mount design and noise-reducing foam enhance typing feel and stability. The keyboard features OSA-profile PBT keycaps with full-key hot-swappable support for Keychron and Jixian custom magnetic switches, as well as south-facing RGB backlighting.

    Keychron has expanded its Q Max series of mechanical keyboards with the overseas release of the Q15 Max. This keyboard, tailored for enthusiasts of the Ortholinear layout where keys are arranged in a grid, starts at US$189 (approximately 1,375 Yuan).

    The Q15 Max seamlessly integrates into Keychron’s established Q Max series, also referred to as the “Aluminum Tuotuo” series. This series already includes various layouts, such as the Q0, Q1, Q2, Q3, Q5, Q6, Q8, Q10, Q12, Q60, and Q65 Max.

    Superior Build Quality

    Designed for both style and durability, the Q15 Max boasts a CNC-machined 6063 aluminum alloy body. Its Gasket structure ensures a softer typing experience, while the full-key hot-swap functionality enables users to customize their switches without soldering, offering a truly personalized feel. The south-facing RGB lighting provides vibrant underglow effects, and two programmable multimedia knobs enhance its functionality.

    The Q15 Max caters to different typing preferences with a choice of three Gateron custom switches:

    • Jupiter Tea Axis: A micro-segment axis with a 55g ± 15g operating force.
    • Jupiter Red Axis: A linear axis with a 45g ± 15g operating force.
    • Jupiter Banana Axis: An advanced tactile axis with a 59g ± 10g operating force.

    Extensive Customization

    For those seeking further customization, the Q15 Max is compatible with QMK/VIA software, allowing users to remap keys and create macros. The keyboard also supports effortless switching between Windows and macOS layouts and comes with high-quality XDA profile PBT keycaps for a comfortable typing experience.

    Keychron provides several configuration options for the Q15 Max:

    • Q15M-B1: Black, shaft-less keycap kit (US$199, approximately RMB 1448)

    Lenovo Launches Affordable Xiaoxin K5 RGB Mechanical Keyboards

    Lenovo has introduced the Xiaoxin K5 series of custom mechanical keyboards, featuring a variety of options. These keyboards have a 79-key layout and a multifunctional media knob, starting at 129 yuan ($18).

    The Xiaoxin K5 series allows for full-key hot-swappable switches, enabling users to easily personalize their typing experience. These keyboards feature a Gasket structure for a cushioned and bouncy typing experience and include a multimedia knob for easy control of various functions without needing additional drivers.

    The K5 Pro version is equipped with a 4000mAh battery. All models include multiple layers of sound dampening materials, such as an IXPE underlay and EVA sandwich cotton, to minimize noise and create a quieter typing environment. The K5 Pro supports wired, 2.4G, and Bluetooth connections, providing flexibility for use with different devices.

    Lighting and Switch Options

    The series offers various lighting choices. The K5 model comes with white backlighting and 11 lighting effects, whereas the K5 Pro features colorful RGB lighting with a rear ambient light strip, 13 lighting effects, and five brightness levels.

    Users have the option to choose from three types of Huannuo switches: the Huano Blue Switch, a tactile switch with an actuation force of 50±10gf; the Mint Jelly Switch, similar to Holy Panda switches with an actuation force of 55±10gf; and the Mint Milk Green Switch, a linear switch with an actuation force of 42±10gf. These switches are pre-lubed for a smoother and more stable typing experience.

    Additional Features and Availability

    The Xiaoxin K5 keyboards are optimized for Lenovo laptops, supporting functions like Fn + S to activate the Lenovo Xiaotian AI agent and Fn + Q to switch performance modes. The multifunctional knob can switch functions using the Fn and arrow keys, allowing users to control volume, backlighting, multimedia, and window zoom without the need for drivers.

    The keyboards come in several color options: the K5 Entry-level model in White Chocolate Brownie or Black Chocolate Brownie with a wired single mode and Huano Blue switch; the K5 Professional model in Cream Mint with a wired single mode and Mint Milk Green switch; and the K5 Pro model in Peach Mint or Black Chocolate Sandwich with wireless three-mode connectivity and Mint Milk Green or Mint Jelly switches.

    The K5 Professional will be available for purchase on May 31, while the other models will be available starting June 10. Earlier this month, Lenovo also released the MK9 mechanical keyboard, featuring a 98-key Gasket layout, Type-C connectivity, and a rotary volume knob.
