CMF Watch Pro 2: AMOLED Display, Gesture Control

CMF is gearing up to unveil new products on July 8, a Monday. Thanks to teasers and leaks, nearly everything about its first smartphone is now known. The Nothing sub-brand has now confirmed details about its upcoming smartwatch – the CMF Watch Pro 2, which will arrive as the successor to last year’s Watch Pro with significant upgrades. Here’s what we know so far.

CMF Watch Pro 2 Key Details

The CMF Watch Pro was previously hinted to feature an aluminum alloy body for a refined finish. Now, the Nothing sub-brand has confirmed that it will come with a round dial and a rotating crown at the top right side. Notably, the smartwatch will sport interchangeable bezels, allowing you to customize the look depending on the occasion.

The CMF Watch Pro 2 is set to feature a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with an auto-brightness feature. The upcoming model is also confirmed to include gesture controls, enabling users to perform specific tasks by making certain gestures. While it’s not entirely clear how this will function, the image suggests that turning your wrist outward and inward will launch different functions.

    Price and Availability

The CMF Watch Pro 2 is expected to be offered with a Black matte finish strap and an Orange leather strap option. Its predecessor was launched at a price of Rs 4,499. Given the upgrades, we can expect the new model to be priced slightly higher.

The CMF Buds Pro 2 will also be released alongside the CMF Watch Pro 2. These TWS earphones are confirmed to feature 50dB ANC, ChatGPT integration, and dual drivers. Both wearable devices, along with the CMF Phone 1, are confirmed to be available on Flipkart.

The CMF Phone 1 is generating considerable excitement ahead of its launch. However, details about its companion devices, the CMF Watch Pro 2 and CMF Buds Pro 2, have been sparse. Recently, new information has surfaced that sheds some light on these upcoming wearables.

Both the CMF Watch Pro 2 and CMF Buds Pro 2 have appeared in the IMDA certification database in Singapore. The wearables are identified by model numbers D398 and B172, respectively. The listing confirms that their release is imminent but doesn’t reveal much about their specifications.

    Certification Details

The CMF Watch Pro 2, with model number D398, is categorized under Bluetooth in the IMDA database. This indicates that the smartwatch will not feature LTE connectivity.

Although the IMDA listing lacks detailed features, prior reports mention that both the CMF Watch Pro 2 and Buds Pro 2 have also received BIS certification in India. This suggests that these devices will launch alongside the CMF Phone 1 on July 8th, 2024, in India. They will be available for purchase on Flipkart and the official CMF By Nothing website.

As we approach the release date, more leaks and official announcements about the capabilities of these wearables are expected. We will keep you informed of any new developments regarding the earbuds or smartwatch.

CMF Watch Pro and Buds Pro Specifications

For those unfamiliar with Nothing’s previous products, here’s a quick overview of the first-generation CMF Watch Pro and Buds Pro. The CMF Watch Pro featured a 1.96-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness exceeding 600 nits and a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels.

Designed for health-conscious users, it offers comprehensive 24-hour health tracking, including real-time heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, sleep and stress tracking, hydration and movement reminders, and personalized fitness goals.

The smartwatch supports Bluetooth calling and is powered by a 340mAh battery, which promises up to 13 days of typical usage. It also boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The CMF Buds Pro, meanwhile, is designed to enhance the audio experience. They come with hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that can reduce noise by up to 45 decibels. Other features include clear call technology and a powerful bass boost option.

Each earbud contains a 55mAh battery, providing up to 11 hours of playback without ANC. The charging case extends this to a maximum of 39 hours of use. A quick 10-minute charge offers up to five hours of music playback.

  • CMF Buds 2, Watch Pro 2 Teased for Launch with Phone 1

CMF Buds 2, Watch Pro 2 Teased for Launch with Phone 1

Last week, CMF confirmed the launch of its Phone 1 smartphone, which will feature an Orange leather back panel and a smart dial. Leaks and rumors have shed light on some key aspects of the device. Recently, the Nothing sub-brand shared a 15-second teaser video on its X handle, titled ‘Reinventing the Wheel,’ which references the smart dial. The teaser remains quite cryptic, keeping us guessing about what CMF has in store.

CMF Watch and Buds Also Teased for Launch

The teaser showcases three dials rotating slowly, seemingly belonging to different devices. The first device is clearly the CMF Phone 1, confirmed to have a dial at the bottom right side of its back panel. A noticeable screw under the dial suggests it could double as a lanyard, hinting at additional functionalities. The teaser also reveals that the upcoming phone will be available in Matte Black, alongside the previously confirmed Orange.

The second product in the teaser likely represents the CMF Buds 2, as its dial resembles that of its predecessor. Meanwhile, the third device could very well be the CMF Watch Pro 2, featuring a rotating dial. This suggests that the dial can be replaced to customize the smartwatch’s appearance. We can anticipate more details about these upcoming products from the Nothing sub-brand in the coming days, hopefully with less ambiguity.

    Expected Specifications and Pricing

According to leaks, the CMF Phone 1 is expected to come with a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display, a 50MP rear camera, and a 16MP front camera. The device will reportedly be powered by a Dimensity 7200 SoC and is tipped to have a box price of Rs 19,999.
