Beats Solo 4, Buds, Pill Speaker Launch in India Pre-iPhone 16

Apple has officially announced a launch event scheduled for September 10, where the new iPhone 16 series and other products are anticipated to be unveiled. In anticipation of this event, Beats by Dr. Dre, a subsidiary of Apple, has introduced three new audio products in India, marking its market entry in the country.

    Beats Solo Buds

The Beats Solo Buds are completely wireless earphones engineered for an impressive listening experience, offering up to 18 hours of battery life. These earbuds allow for easy one-touch pairing with both iOS and Android devices, ensuring smooth connectivity. Each earbud includes a custom microphone and an advanced noise-learning algorithm for superior call quality.

Designed for comfort, the Solo Buds feature ergonomic acoustic nozzles and laser-cut vents to boost audio performance while reducing ear pressure. They come with four different ear tip sizes to accommodate various ear shapes. Dual-layer transducers minimize sound distortions, providing clear and detailed audio across all frequencies.

    Beats Solo 4

The Beats Solo 4 on-ear headphones deliver up to 50 hours of battery life and include personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking for an immersive sound experience. Enhanced built-in microphones, supported by a noise-learning algorithm, provide high-quality call performance and seamless interaction with voice assistants.

Weighing only 217 grams, the Solo 4 headphones feature UltraPlush cushions for comfort and a flex-grip headband for a secure fit. They support lossless audio through USB-C and offer multiple connectivity options, including Class 1 Bluetooth for wireless use, USB-C for charging and audio, and a 3.5mm analog input for high-resolution wired playback.

    Beats Pill

The Beats Pill is a portable Bluetooth speaker that is 10% lighter than its predecessor and includes a removable carry lanyard along with a soft-grip silicone backing. It provides up to 24 hours of battery life and boasts IP67 dust and water resistance, making it ideal for outdoor activities.

A re-engineered racetrack woofer and radial ribbing have enhanced the Pill’s acoustic framework to deliver more robust, room-filling sound. The design features a 20-degree upward tilt to enhance sound projection. The speaker also acts as a speakerphone, offering clear voice capture for calls and voice assistant activation. It is compatible with both iOS and Android devices and supports one-touch pairing, as well as syncing two speakers for an improved audio experience.

    Pricing and Availability in India

The Beats Solo Buds are priced at Rs 6,900 ($82), available in colors like Matte Black, Storm Gray, Arctic Purple, and Transparent Red. The Solo 4 headphones cost Rs 22,990 ($272) and come in Matte Black, Slate Blue, and Cloud Pink. The Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker is offered in Matte Black, Statement Red, and Champagne Gold, priced at Rs 16,900 (~$201).

  • Beats Pill Returns: All-Day Battery & $149 Price

Beats Pill Returns: All-Day Battery & $149 Price

Apple has reintroduced the iconic 'Pill'. The Beats Pill has made a comeback as the latest portable Bluetooth speaker in years. Beats by Dr. Dre released its last Pill series speaker a couple of years ago. So, what’s new and improved? Let’s explore.

Beats Pill (2024): What Makes It Stand Out?

The 2024 Beats Pill is instantly recognizable due to its pill-shaped design, reminiscent of the first Beats Pill rather than the more recent Beats Pill+. Apple has been concentrating on its own smart speaker lineup in recent years, so the return of Beats speakers is a welcome shift. According to official statements, the new Beats Pill delivers robust audio thanks to its custom woofer and upgraded tweeter.

This is all housed in a body with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. Essentially, you can take the party anywhere and enjoy music from any location. One of the significant upgrades in the new Beats Pill over its predecessor is its battery life. The previous Beats Pill+ offered up to 12 hours of battery life, while the latest model promises a full day of usage on a single charge. Additionally, you can charge your smartphone using the Beats Pill.

    Enhanced Features

The new speakers also support fast charging, with just 10 minutes of charging providing up to 2 hours of audio playback. Other notable features include compatibility with both Android and Apple devices (including Apple’s Find My and Android’s Find My Device), Amplify Mode, Stereo Mode, USB-C, support for calls, and voice assistants.

The Beats Pill is priced at 149 US Dollars and is available in three colors: Gold, Red, and Black.

  • Apple’s Beats Pill Bluetooth Speaker Gets FCC Approval, Launch Soon

Apple’s Beats Pill Bluetooth Speaker Gets FCC Approval, Launch Soon

Apple's renewed interest in the Beats Pill seems apparent, as the speaker recently cleared FCC certification in the U.S. The filing, which mentions model number A3211, confirms Bluetooth transmission in the 2.402-2.48GHz range, hinting at a possible launch in June.

    Celebrity Endorsement Strategy

Apple has been subtly promoting the new Pill by leveraging celebrity endorsements. Notable figures such as basketball legend LeBron James, F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo, soccer star Lionel Messi, and social media icon Kim Kardashian have been seen with the speaker in recent pictures.

    Design and Features

Though specifics about the speaker remain undisclosed, leaks from the iOS 17.5 code indicate it will maintain the iconic "pill" design and introduce a new lanyard, a feature not present in previous models.

    Historical Context and Future Expectations

This release signals a comeback for the Beats Pill series. The original pill-shaped speaker debuted in 2012, prior to Apple acquiring Beats Electronics. The lineup expanded with the Pill+ in 2015, which featured a Lightning charging port. After discontinuing the Pill+ in early 2022, Apple is now set to launch this new version. Consistent with Apple's recent design trends, the new Pill is anticipated to feature a USB-C charging port, advancements in Bluetooth technology, and other improvements compared to the nearly nine-year-old Pill+.
