Ayaneo 3 Gaming Handheld: Official Specs Revealed

One-Netbook has recently launched the OneXFly F1 Pro featuring AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 365 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APUs. In light of this, Ayaneo has disclosed additional information regarding their third-generation flagship handheld device. As expected, Ayaneo has chosen to equip the Ayaneo 3 with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 as well.

    AMD’s Cutting-Edge Technology

The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is designed to demonstrate AMD’s latest Zen 5 CPU cores, along with the RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 890M iGPU. Interestingly, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is currently available in mini-PC versions like the Beelink SER9, which retails for $999 on Amazon. Nevertheless, Ayaneo is also relying on the well-established Ryzen 7 8840U, a processor that has become quite popular in the gaming handheld market lately.

    Display Choices and Features

Additionally, Ayaneo has announced that the Ayaneo 3 will come with options for both LCD and OLED screens. It appears that only the OLED variant will support HDR technology. Furthermore, Ayaneo has shared some insights into the device’s control scheme, hinting at a new arrangement of rear-mounted buttons and what they refer to as trigger lock keys. While there is no confirmed release date for the Ayaneo 3 just yet, the company has certainly added some substance to its earlier announcements.

    Looking Ahead

Ayaneo’s latest updates provide a clearer picture of what gamers can expect from the upcoming Ayaneo 3. The combination of powerful hardware and innovative features could make it a strong competitor in the handheld gaming market. As anticipation builds, fans are eager to see how the Ayaneo 3 will stack up against its rivals like the OneXFly F1 Pro.

Ayaneo 3 Teased as New Flagship Handheld Console Concept

Ayaneo has been quite active this month, though not as much as Anbernic. To give you some background, the company started October by hinting at a new flagship gaming handheld for the first time. After that, they updated their AM01 and AM02 mini-PCs, and they finally released the much-anticipated AG01 Starship Graphics Dock.

    Focus on the Ayaneo 3

Now, Ayaneo is back in the spotlight with the Ayaneo 3, which they stylize as the AYANEO 3 and tout as their first ‘Code: REVO’ item. Sadly, there isn’t much information available about this device yet. However, the company has shared some design features through a brief video on both YouTube and X (previously known as Twitter).

    Design and Features

The Ayaneo 3 seems to have a layout similar to other well-known gaming handhelds, such as the Asus ROG Ally (currently priced at $399.99 on Amazon). So, it looks like Ayaneo’s upcoming ‘flagship’ device will include an Xbox control setup, along with what seems to be a couple of rear-mounted macro buttons. At this point, it’s unclear whether Ayaneo will choose AMD Strix Point or Intel Lunar Lake processors. Given the frequency of their teasers this month, we can expect Ayaneo to share more details about the Ayaneo 3 soon.

Lenovo Legion Go Handhelds Unveiled with AMD Strix Point Variant

The Legion Go has been on the market for over a year now, having been officially unveiled in early September 2023, with its release about a month later. In the time since, competitors like ASUS, MSI, Valve, and Zotac have launched their own newer offerings. Furthermore, AYANEO has begun to promote the AYANEO 3, branding it as a ‘new era of handheld devices’.

    Lenovo’s Continuing Innovations

Despite the competition, Lenovo appears to be moving forward. Last month, NITTRX presented what they called the highly anticipated Legion Go Lite, which was quickly followed by the emergence of this device along with a Legion Go Gen Two in official marketing materials. Recently, ITHome has discovered that Lenovo is seeking certification for three new Legion Go models from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Russia.

    New Model Numbers

For reference, the existing Legion Go is identified by the model number ‘8APU1’. Thus, the new identifiers—8ARP1, 8ASP2, and 8AHP2—seem to indicate fresh devices. It’s important to keep in mind that simply having an EEC certification is not a guarantee that a product will actually be released; however, it usually indicates that a company is planning to bring these items to Europe and other regions.

    Speculations on New Devices

The introduction of the Legion Go S aligns with rumors that came up during the summer, but it’s likely the same gadget as the Legion Go Lite that was shown off last month. At this point, not much is known about the Legion Go 8ASP2 or the Legion Go 8AHP2. The model numbers might hold some hints, if ‘8APU1’ can be deciphered in a certain way:

If this interpretation holds, then 8ASP2 might indicate a second-generation device featuring around an 8-inch screen paired with an AMD Strix Point APU. On the other hand, ‘8AHP2’ could refer to an 8-inch, second-gen device that uses AMD Hawk Point APUs instead. Given earlier speculations regarding the Legion Go Lite or Legion Go S, it seems this would be a first-generation product that runs on the same Phoenix APU as the current Legion Go (currently priced at $676.84 on Amazon). Meanwhile, the model number ‘8ARP1’ hints that the Legion Go S could be using AMD Rembrandt APUs, which are a bit older at this stage.

AYANEO 3: The Next-Gen Flagship Gaming Handheld Device

The gaming handheld market is moving really fast. AYN Technologies is set to release the Odin2 Portal later this week, and they have shared the complete specifications for the device. At the same time, Anbernic is going to start selling the RG CubeXX, priced similarly to the existing RG35XX SP, which is currently available for $89.99 on Amazon.

    New Entrant in Handhelds

AYANEO has now entered the scene by hinting at what it calls a new ‘flagship handheld’ and a ‘new era of handheld devices’. So far, there isn’t much information about this device, except that it will be named the AYANEO 3. However, we can make some guesses based on what they have released in the past.

    Specifications and Expectations

For example, the company’s ‘Pocket’ line has focused on Android-based devices until now. They usually put more powerful AMD and Intel processors into their Windows-based handhelds compared to the MediaTek and Qualcomm chips found in devices like the Pocket Air and Pocket EVO. Since AYANEO is marketing the AYANEO 3 as a ‘flagship’, we think they might move away from the AMD Phoenix and Hawk Point APUs used in their high-end products last year.

    Future Outlook

It seems likely that the AYANEO 3 could utilize AMD Strix Point or Intel Lunar Lake chips, which are already known to be both efficient and powerful, like the Ryzen AI 9 365 and Core Ultra 7 256V. Unfortunately, it is still unclear when AYANEO will provide more information about its upcoming gaming handheld.
