    Rollme has introduced a unique smartwatch known as the U8 Ultra. Unlike traditional smartwatches, this one lacks a specific operating system; instead, it runs on Android 9.0, which is a bit outdated. While this allows for a wide range of application compatibility, the low resolution of the display might lead to issues with some apps.

    Connectivity and Features

    The U8 Ultra comes equipped with an LTE module, allowing users to insert a SIM card for making calls and sending texts directly from their wrist. It also includes a built-in GNSS module, which helps with navigation and provides up-to-date traffic information. Additionally, it has standard smartwatch features like heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen level tracking. Although it offers some water resistance, don’t expect it to be ideal for swimming.

    Technical Specifications

    At the heart of the smartwatch is a Unisoc 8541E SoC, paired with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The device is powered by a 1,000 mAh battery, but generally, wearables running a full Android OS tend to have shorter battery lives compared to those with a dedicated operating system. The display measures 1.5 inches and uses AMOLED technology with a resolution of 480 x 480. It is accompanied by two buttons and a crown on the right side, which also hides a camera for taking photos.

    Pricing and Availability

    You can buy the Rollme U8 Ultra directly from the manufacturer for just $90. Customers can choose from three colors: black, white, and orange.

    Xming Launches Affordable Q5 Neo Projector with Gimbal Stand

    The Xming Q5 Neo projector has made its debut in China. This is a more affordable version featuring a 1080p resolution (1,920 x 1,080 px). Xming claims that it can project images ranging from 40 to 150 inches in size (approximately 102 to 381 cm). For an image size of 80 inches (about 203 cm), the throw ratio stands at 1.22:1.

    Brightness and Features

    Equipped with an LED light source, the Q5 Neo is said to offer brightness up to 300 CVIA lumens; however, it’s not clear how this measurement compares to internationally recognized standards like ISO or ANSI lumens. The projector is compatible with 4K content and features a 16:9 aspect ratio along with a contrast ratio of 2,600:1. Users can easily enhance the image quality thanks to autofocus, automatic keystone correction, screen alignment, and obstacle avoidance functions. Operating on Android 9.0 with an iQiyi interface, it allows screencasting via Miracast or Apple AirPlay. It includes connectivity options like Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, and you can also connect devices using HDMI 2.0 and USB 2.0 ports. Notably, it seems that the device lacks built-in speakers.

    Design and Pricing

    The compact design measures 161.5 x 113 x 186 mm (in inches) and comes with a metal gimbal stand that can rotate 360° vertically. Xming is currently offering the Q5 Neo projector in China at a promotional price of CNY 699 (around $97), while the regular retail price is listed as CNY 999 (approximately $139). It remains uncertain if the company plans to introduce a similar model in other regions under its international Formovie brand. In the United States, you can already purchase projectors such as the Formovie Xming Page One, which is priced at $329 on Amazon.
