OnePlus is preparing to unveil the Ace 5 series in China. This new collection will start with a standard model and a Pro variant, with the standard version likely to be introduced globally as the OnePlus 13R. Just hours before the official launch event in China, the company disclosed details about the battery capacity and the phone’s thickness.
Battery Improvements
According to a recent teaser, the OnePlus 13R’s Chinese version will feature a 6,400 mAh battery, representing a significant enhancement over its predecessor, which had a 5,500 mAh battery and was 8.8 mm thick.
In contrast, the Ace 5 has a thickness of 8 mm, indicating that the increased battery capacity did not add to the thickness of the OnePlus 13R. In fact, it is slimmer than the previous model. The company also mentioned that the impressive 6,400 mAh battery enables the device to provide up to 23 hours of video playback while still retaining some charge (24,000 mAh Anker 737 power bank curr. $102 on Amazon).
Performance and Features
The upcoming OnePlus 13R has been confirmed to include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which has undergone special tuning. The company asserts that this customization will deliver performance comparable to what one would expect from an 8 Gen 3.5. Furthermore, other confirmed specifications include a 1.5K display along with a primary camera featuring the Sony IMX 906 sensor.
Launch Dates
As for the launch schedule, the OnePlus Ace 5 series is anticipated to be announced in China on December 26. Meanwhile, the global unveiling of the OnePlus 13 series is set for January 7.
OnePlus shared these updates on Weibo, keeping fans eagerly awaiting more details.
