Samsung Galaxy A26 5G: Affordable Android Smartphone Launch Soon

2025 is expected to be the year when Samsung’s Galaxy A series finally embraces a more advanced 45W wired charging option, especially for the higher-end models like the A56 5G and possibly the A36 5G.

    A26 5G Charging Standards

On the other hand, the A26 5G may not get this upgrade and could stick with the usual 25W charging standard. Still, it’s rumored to feature a design update that brings it in line with the A-series, showcasing a triple rear camera bump similar to that found in the premium Galaxy Z Fold6.

    New Features and Pricing

The new A26 5G, which will succeed the A25 5G (currently priced at $199.99 on Amazon), is expected to have a refreshed rear panel but will likely have an older display based on recent renders that align with past leaks.

    Confirmation of Releases

The phone’s existence has seemingly been validated through recent listings on the Bluetooth SIG website, linking the Galaxy A26 5G to three model numbers: SM-A266V, SM-A266U, and SM-A266U1, indicating a potential release in the US market.

The A26 5G is also recognized as the SM-A266B/DS by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and has been spotted under various names, including SM-A266B, SM-A266M/DS, and SM-A266M in new TÜV Rheinland documents, which might also confirm its 25W specifications.

    Market Expansion

This suggests that the smartphone is likely making its way to the Indian market, and possibly other regions as well. However, there are no details yet regarding when this updated model will actually launch there.

  • Galaxy A56 5G Appears on 3C Certification with 45W Charging

Galaxy A56 5G Appears on 3C Certification with 45W Charging

Samsung’s next phone, the Galaxy A56 5G, has been spotted on China’s 3C certification site, giving us some important info about its charging features. This new model will replace the Galaxy A55 5G and is expected to come with major improvements, such as faster charging, enhanced performance, and possibly better camera capabilities, making it a thrilling addition to Samsung’s mid-range series.

    Highlights from the 3C Listing

The 3C certification indicates that the Galaxy A56 5G (model SM-A5660) will support 45W charging, which is a big step up from the 25W charging speed found in the previous model. This change brings the A56 closer to the charging speeds of Samsung’s top-end phones, like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, it remains unclear how this will affect charging in real-life situations, especially since the differences between 25W and 45W charging speeds in Samsung’s premium devices have been minimal.

For those switching from an A or M series device, it will be necessary to buy a compatible 45W adapter separately in order to take full advantage of the faster charging speeds.

Other Features of the Galaxy A56 5G

Besides the improved charging, the Galaxy A56 5G is rumored to be equipped with an Exynos 1580 chipset. Early leaks suggest this processor might deliver performance on par with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888, which was the flagship chipset for 2021, used in the S21 Ultra.

Furthermore, the upcoming device was seen on Geekbench last month, showing single-core and multi-core scores of 1341 and 3836, respectively. This is a notable upgrade from the Galaxy A55’s Exynos 1480 chipset, which scores around 1100 and 3400 in the same tests.

    Camera Expectations and Launch Date

Regarding the cameras, the rear setup is likely to stay the same as the A55, featuring a 50MP+12MP+5MP triple-lens configuration. However, Samsung is expected to introduce a new 12MP sensor for the front-facing camera.

The Galaxy A56 5G is anticipated to launch sometime in 2025, after the release of the Galaxy S25. Although pricing details are still uncertain, the Galaxy A55 was launched in March 2024 at Rs 39,999 for the base model, which might give us a clue about the pricing strategy for the A56.

  • Realme C75: Upcoming Budget Android Phone with Big Battery Upgrade

Realme C75: Upcoming Budget Android Phone with Big Battery Upgrade

Realme has made the 4G/LTE-only variant of the C65 even more appealing, currently priced at €119.90 (~$126) on Amazon.de, by including 45W charging via USB-C. This is a significant upgrade, especially since the 5G version only supports 15W charging.

    Enhanced Features of the C75

The C75 is set to inherit this impressive charging capability, as noted in its recent filings with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and UK regulators. In a stylish and modern approach, it features a battery with a rated capacity of 5,660mAh.

Additionally, the typical capacity is higher at 5,828mAh, which is likely how the C75 (also identified as RMX3941 by Indonesia Telecom and the Thai NBTC) will be marketed. This marks a notable enhancement compared to the C65, which was powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 and only had a basic 5,000mAh battery.

    Design Changes and Software

The new model will transition from the camera design reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S21 to a vertical binocular setup. This design choice may aim to imitate the iPhone 16, similar to what we see with the upcoming Oppo Reno13 series.

However, it’s worth pointing out that the FCC listings indicate that the C75 will run Realme UI 5.0, rather than the latest Android 15-based software that will be featured on the brand’s upcoming GT7 Pro flagship device.
