    TCL Launches Brighter T6L QD-Mini LED TV for Enhanced Viewing

    The TCL T6L QD-Mini LED TV has been launched in China. This new model comes in four different sizes: 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch. As stated by TCL, the new QD-Mini LED technology allows these TVs to be 53.8% brighter and 10% more energy-efficient compared to previous models.

    Specifications and Features

    The number of backlight partitions on the T6L varies from 180 to 420, based on the size of the TV. The maximum brightness reaches 1,100 nits for the smaller models and 1,300 nits for the larger ones. Additionally, the Quantum Dot Pro 2025 technology is claimed to offer 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. Other notable specifications include a native contrast ratio of 7,000:1 and a refresh rate that can go up to 288Hz, although the refresh rate is limited to 240Hz for the 55-inch model.

    Smart Features and Connectivity

    The T6L operates on the TV Control System 3.0, which includes custom interfaces for gaming consoles like Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. It also features multiple ports, such as four HDMI ports—one being HDMI 4K@144Hz eARC—along with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports. You can purchase the TCL T6L QD-Mini LED TV in its various sizes—55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch—in China for CNY 2,899 (~$398), CNY 3,699 (~$508), CNY 4,799 (~$659), and CNY 6,199 (~$851), respectively. The release date for this TV or similar models in other countries remains uncertain. In the US, the older TCL 65-inch QM7 QLED 4K Smart QD-Mini LED TV is currently priced at $697.99 on Amazon.

    2025 Polestar 2: Enhanced Range and New Options Unveiled

    Polestar has introduced the 2025 Polestar 2, which features enhanced range, new exterior colors, and more interior customization choices.

    The long-range single-motor model now has a WLTP range of 659 kilometers (410 miles), up from 654 kilometers (407 miles). A new single-motor variant with a 70 kWh CATL battery has also been added to the European market, offering a WLTP range of 554 kilometers (344 miles). The dual-motor long-range model's range has increased to 596 kilometers (370 miles), from 591 kilometers (367 miles).

    Exterior and Wheels

    The 2025 Polestar 2 comes in two new exterior colors: Vapour, replacing Magnesium, and Storm, replacing Thunder. It also features new 19-inch Aero alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design and 20-inch Pro Graphite alloy wheels available with the Pro Pack.

    Interior Upgrades

    Inside, the new model offers “charcoal gray Nappa leather that meets animal welfare standards” from the Scottish company Bridge of Weir. The Pro Pack includes new black and Swedish gold seat belts for an exclusive touch.

    Polestar provides a range of optional packages to customize the vehicle:

    • Pilot Pack (1,000 euros): Adds safety features like Pilot Assist and emergency brake assist.
    • Plus Pack (2,900 euros): Includes a panoramic sunroof, LED fog lights with turn signals, premium WeaveTech seats, upgraded interior lighting, electric front seats, air quality sensor, digital car key, hands-free electric tailgate, cargo divider, and luggage rack.
    • Climate Pack (1,000 euros): Enhances comfort with a heat pump, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, and heated wiper nozzles.

    Additional Options

    Individual options include:

    • A 200-euro AC charger
    • A 1,000-euro Harman Kardon audio system
    • Pixel LED headlights for 1,200 euros
    • Tinted rear windows as part of the Plus Pack for an additional 300 euros

    It's worth noting that choosing the Performance Pack for the dual-motor long-range model reduces the WLTP range by 28 kilometers due to potential performance enhancements. The new Polestar 2 was launched in Europe and Canada on June 25th, with plans to expand to more markets by the end of 2024. The base model starts at 48,990 euros (approximately 382,000 yuan).
