Rotwild has announced the arrival of the R.EX, a cutting-edge electric mountain bike that emphasizes high-performance engineering and design. Launched today, the R.EX is powered by the robust DJI Avinox M1 mid-drive motor, complemented by Rotwild’s proprietary IPU Gen4 battery system.
Frame and Design
This new model is built on an updated frame inspired by Rotwild’s successful R.EXC, crafted from hand-made Poly Dynamic Carbon that incorporates high-modulus fibers. The innovative elevated box frame holds a lightweight 864Wh IPU Gen4 battery and a motor rated at 105Nm torque, which can reach up to 120Nm in Boost mode. The entire system weighs in at 3,580g. The bike’s mullet wheel configuration features a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel, providing 160mm of travel in the front and 150mm in the back.
Advanced Features
Among the notable components are the new Eightpins NGS3.0 dropper post and a mid-high pivot suspension design that enhances traction and balance. Additionally, the bike includes built-in tool mounts on the underside of the top tube. Riders can also adjust the geometry with a new angle headset, allowing for changes of +/- 0.5° and variable reach adjustments of +/- 5mm.
The Avinox system comes equipped with a 2-inch OLED display, Bluetooth 5.1, ANT+, and LTE, facilitating over-the-air updates and navigation. The advanced sensor fusion technology allows the motor to adjust in real-time to the rider’s inputs, ensuring a more fluid and controlled ride. Both the display and remote are wireless, while the motor is seamlessly integrated into the bike’s overall design.
Pricing and Availability
The pricing for the R.EX starts at €8,990 for the Core model, going up to €12,490 for the Ultra edition. It is available in sizes M, L, and XL, with three different trim levels: Core, Pro, and Ultra.
