Redmi is set to release the K70 Ultra smartphone this month, with the Redmi K80 series expected to debut in China shortly after. A recent report indicated that the Pro version will include a 3x telephoto lens and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

New Features and Specifications

Today, the well-known tipster Digital Chat Station confirmed that the Redmi K80 Pro will feature a 50MP 3x telephoto lens. The tipster also mentioned that the phone will sport a 2K flat display and will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip.

In addition, it was previously revealed that the phone will come with a 5500mAh battery and support 120W charging. Further details about the smartphone remain undisclosed at this time.

Standard K80 Model

The K80 Pro will be accompanied by its standard model, the Redmi K80. Previous reports suggest that the standard K80 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Similar to the Pro model, the K80 is expected to have a flat OLED screen with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. While the K80 Pro is likely to feature a telephoto camera similar to the K70 Pro, it remains uncertain if the standard K80 will include a telephoto camera.

Design and Launch Timeline

Another leaker has stated that both phones will showcase a new design on the back, featuring a new glass material.

Moreover, a report from last month indicated that there won’t be a Redmi K80E, the successor to Redmi K70E, this year. Xiaomi is reportedly shifting the focus of the Redmi K-series towards more premium devices.

Regarding the launch timeline, the Xiaomi 15 series will be the first from the company to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, with an expected launch in October. The Redmi K80 series is anticipated to follow, with a launch expected sometime in November.
