Today, Redmi General Manager Wang Teng Thomas shared a video on Weibo, providing an update on the upcoming Redmi K70 Ultra for the Chinese market. The video features a conversation with Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun. Wang Teng Thomas revealed that he is thoroughly preparing for the launch of the K70 Ultra and disclosed some key details about the device.
Redmi K70 Ultra Launching Soon in China
The Redmi K70 Ultra, akin to its predecessor—the Redmi K60 Ultra—will emphasize performance. It is set to become the “performance king” within the 3,000 Yuan (~$412) price range. Reports indicate that the K70 Ultra will house the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset, the same chip that powers the iQOO Neo 9S Pro, which was launched a few weeks ago in China.
Wang Teng Thomas also mentioned that in addition to the main chip, the Redmi K70 Ultra will include a powerful independent graphics chip and an ice-sealed cooling system. Above is the image of the retail box for the K70 Ultra, shared by Thomas on Friday.
Specifications and Features
The brand has recently confirmed that the Redmi K70 Ultra will be an IP68-rated dustproof and water-resistant device. Reports suggest it will feature a flat 8T OLED panel offering a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. For enhanced durability, it will include a metal middle frame.
The D9300+ powered phone is anticipated to come with up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging. It might also have a 20-megapixel front camera for selfies and a 50-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera setup on the rear panel.
Global Market Expectations
For those who are unaware, a modified version of the Redmi K70 Ultra with improved cameras is expected to launch globally under the Xiaomi 14T Pro name in the coming weeks.
