Realme has launched the GT Neo 6 SE globally as the GT 6T, and they plan to introduce the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 powered Chinese GT Neo 6 to the global market as the GT 6 on June 20th.
Additionally, Realme is preparing an even more powerful GT 6 for the Chinese market. A recent leak on Weibo has provided some intriguing details about this upcoming device.
Key Features and Specifications
The leak suggests that the new GT 6 will feature a flat S1 display provided by BOE, boasting a 1.5K resolution. It could be akin to the 6.78-inch OLED panel with a peak brightness of 6000 nits found in the Neo 6 and Neo 6 SE.
Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The battery is rumored to be a massive 6,000mAh unit with support for 100W charging.
Camera and Build Quality
In the camera department, the phone might sport a 50-megapixel primary sensor, though more details are yet to be confirmed. The leak also mentions a metal middle frame, suggesting a premium build quality.
Competition and Launch Timeline
The Chinese GT 6 will face stiff competition from other flagship models such as the Redmi K70 Ultra, OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, and iQOO Neo 9S Pro+. While the Redmi K70 Ultra will use the Dimensity 9300+ chip, the OnePlus and iQOO models are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Though the exact launch date for the 8 Gen 3 powered GT 6 in China is unclear, a Weibo post by a renowned tipster, Digital Chat Station, indicated that several Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones have had their launch dates moved up to June or early July.
Future Prospects
The acceleration in launch schedules is likely due to Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, which is set to be unveiled in October. Phones featuring this next-gen chip are expected to hit the market the same month, potentially dominating the high-end smartphone segment.
Given this context, it is anticipated that not only the Realme GT 6 but also the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will launch either this month or at the beginning of next month. The Redmi K70 Ultra is already rumored to launch in June.
