Philips has introduced its latest ProPix series of projectors. The ProPix 850 and ProPix 650 have been created in collaboration with Screeneo, just like previous models such as the U5 and S4 (currently priced at $329.99 on Amazon). These new projectors are specifically tailored for business environments, making them ideal for classrooms and meeting spaces instead of home entertainment setups.
Specifications of ProPix Projectors
The ProPix 650 comes with a WXGA resolution of 1280x800 pixels and boasts a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. On the other hand, the ProPix 850 features a 1080p resolution of 1,920 x 1080 pixels and has a contrast ratio of 1,600:1. Both projectors utilize Signify’s advanced lamp technology, offering brightness of up to 4,000 ANSI lumens and a lifespan of up to 10,000 hours in Eco Mode. They can project images ranging from 70 to 150 inches (approximately 178 to 381 cm) wide. With a throw ratio of 1.49:1, Philips suggests that you can display an 80-inch (around 203 cm) image from a distance of 4 meters (about 13 feet).
Features and Pricing
These projectors come equipped with various image-enhancing features, including digital zoom, manual focus, and vertical keystone correction. They also include multiple ports like HDMI, VGA, RS232, and USB. The DLP models feature a built-in 2W speaker, presets for easy presentations and spreadsheets, as well as support for different aspect ratios: 4:3, 16:9, 16:10, and native. The Philips ProPix 650 is set to be priced at $499/£499/€499 upon its release in January. In contrast, the Philips ProPix 850 will be available at a higher cost of $699/£599/€699, expected to launch this December.
