Outsiders Motorcycles and Brekr Partner to Customize Brekr Model B Electric Moped
Outsiders Motorcycles, a Dutch custom workshop, has teamed up with Brekr to transform the Brekr Model B electric moped into a rugged and functional e-bike. The collaboration aims to give the Model B a more impressive look and enhanced functionality.
Uniquely Styled E-Moped with Bicycle Simplicity
The Brekr Model B is a uniquely styled e-moped that combines the simplicity of a bicycle with the power of a 500cc four-stroke scooter. Originally designed as an urban commuter e-bike, it features a 2,500W rear hub-mounted electric motor and two in-frame battery packs with a combined capacity of 2kWh. With a range of 60 miles (~97km), the Model B offers a convenient and eco-friendly mode of transportation.
A Partnership That Started Six Years Ago
Both Brekr and Outsiders are Dutch companies that began discussions six years ago. Two years ago, these talks turned into a concrete partnership after Brekr secured government subsidies for the production of the Model B. Outsiders then took the opportunity to create a custom machine based on the stylish Model B, which they handpicked from Brekr's Doeltichem facility.
Inspired by the Honda CT50 Motra
Outsiders drew inspiration from the Honda CT50 Motra, a rugged mini bike from the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM), to remodel the Brekr Model B. The custom workshop firm added chunky tires, fat bars, and several other rugged features to give the Model B a more robust and adventurous look. The customized e-bike was intended for use by Outsiders for a year.
From E-Bike to E-Trike with a Sidecar
The Outsiders-customized Model B also includes a sidecar, which can be used to carry a pet, transforming the e-bike into an e-trike. This versatile vehicle has been showcased across Croatia, even conquering the iconic Stelvio Pass. With its camping capabilities and ability to haul luggage, the remodeled Brekr Model B proves to be a practical and exciting choice for outdoor enthusiasts. It was prominently featured at the Brekr Ride-Out, highlighting Brekr's enthusiasm for the transformation.
Official Test and Service Center
In addition to the collaboration, the Outsiders custom shop has become an official Brekr test and service center. The custom-yellow Model B is now on display at the Brekr headquarters, serving as a testament to the partnership's success. While there is no information available regarding pricing and customization details for future Brekr Model B units, it is expected that more of these e-bikes will undergo customization at the Outsiders workshop.
