Oppo is gearing up to unveil the Oppo Find X8 Ultra in April in China. Before the big reveal, Zhou Yibao, the Product Manager for Oppo Find, has begun to share some key details about the X8 Ultra. He mentioned that this device will be the only “Ultra” model among its rivals that comes with a flat display. A teaser image was also shared to give a sneak peek of what to expect from the screen. Recently, he took to Weibo again to disclose information regarding the phone’s charging features and its durability.
Charging Features of Oppo Find X8 Ultra
The charging features for the Find X8 Ultra have been officially confirmed. The Oppo Find X8 Ultra, along with its Satellite Communication Version, was recently listed with a 100W charger in China’s 3C certification database. As shown in the screenshot, Zhou Yibao has confirmed that the Find X8 Ultra will indeed support 100W fast charging. It’s worth noting that last year’s Find X7 Ultra provided 80W wired charging. Yibao stated that the X8 Ultra can charge from 0 to 100 percent in just 35 minutes. Moreover, it will also support 80W wireless charging. Like its predecessors, the Find X8 and X8 Pro, the Ultra variant will come with an IP68/69-rated dust and water-resistant design.
Battery and Design Insights
In addition, a reliable source known as Digital Chat Station has shared new information about the X8 Ultra. According to a recent post on Weibo, the device will be equipped with a battery that has a capacity of around 6,000mAh. They also pointed out that this will be the only “Ultra” flagship phone this year featuring a dual-cell battery. Despite the sizeable battery, the thickness of the device is anticipated to stay below 9mm. Furthermore, the X8 Ultra will include an upgraded version of the 0916 X-axis linear motor for better haptic feedback.
Reports indicate that the launch event for the Find X8 Ultra in April might also introduce a few other devices, including the Oppo Pad 4 Pro, Find X8S, and Find X8 Mini. However, regarding a global launch, it appears that none of the Find X8-series smartphones will be available in markets outside of China.
