OnePlus Nord CE 4 Update: New Animations, Camera Fixes

Last month, OnePlus addressed the heating issue of the OnePlus Nord CE 4 with a software update. Now, the company has begun rolling out the OxygenOS 14.0.1.704 update, which brings new animations, enhances touch controls, and resolves a few camera problems.

New Smooth Animations

  • Introduces seamless icon transformations and rounded corners during app launch and exit, providing a smoother visual experience.
  • Adds a bounce animation effect when sliding to the bottom of the notification drawer and optimizes Quick Settings icons and widgets for a more natural look.
  • Improves transition animations for Home screen icons and widgets, and includes wallpaper zoom animations upon unlocking the device.
  • Adds wallpaper zoom animations and gradual brightness transitions when turning the screen on or off.
  • Enhances background colors and Gaussian blur effects in the Home screen drawer.
  • Optimizes the transition animation when the Lock screen clock and buttons disappear upon unlocking the device.
  • Refines animations when entering and exiting Global Search for a more consistent visual experience.

New Touch Control Experience

  • Adds a transition animation when swiping inward from the screen's edge or swiping up to exit an app in landscape mode.
  • Allows tapping the lower right corner of a large folder to view more apps.
  • Enables pulling down app icons in large folders to open an app in one move.
  • Improves touch control responsiveness, making tapping and swiping on the Home screen and Recent tasks screen faster and more stable.
  • Increases touch responsiveness in app usage scenarios, such as opening and closing apps, entering and exiting recent tasks, or switching between apps using the gesture guide bar.
  • Optimizes animations when using large folders, and dragging apps on the Home screen is now smoother.

  • Integrates the June 2024 Android security patch to improve system security.

  • Enhances the stability of network connections for a better user experience.

  • Fixes a stutter issue with video recording in certain scenarios.

The update is currently being distributed to a limited number of users in India, with a wider release expected soon. If you haven't received the OTA update notification yet, you can manually check for it by navigating to Settings, selecting About Device, then OxygenOS, and tapping on Check for Update.
