OnePlus introduced the performance-driven OnePlus Ace 3 in January this year and there are now talks of a new model in the works. Recently, Li Jie, the President of OnePlus China, confirmed that the next series will be called OnePlus Ace 5, skipping the number 4 completely. He mentioned that this new series will have a major boost in performance, claiming it will be “almost a generation ahead” of other brands, which aligns with their naming approach.
Confirmation and Expectations
This confirmation puts to rest the recent doubts among fans about whether OnePlus would stick to its usual naming sequence. Along with the name announcement, Li Jie revealed that an engineer showcased performance testing data indicating that the Ace 5 series will have impressive capabilities. The release is anticipated for December, boasting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor for the Ace 5 and a Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Ace 5 Pro.
Design and Features
In terms of design, the OnePlus Ace 5 is expected to have a sleek straight screen with a rounded camera module positioned in the upper-left corner, maintaining the clean yet striking look of earlier models.

The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, which came out in June this year, followed the Ace 3's January launch. If OnePlus keeps this trend, the Ace 5 Pro may be released in mid-2025, just a few months after the Ace 5 makes its debut in December. Interestingly, the Ace 5 series might also include a more compact model, likely resembling the vivo X200 Pro mini.
