It looks like ZTE is getting ready to launch its first flagship powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Although the company hasn't confirmed an exact date, it appears that the next model in the Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version line (currently priced at $679 on Amazon) might arrive by the end of this month. ZTE's President, Ni Fei, has recently shared some preliminary camera samples of the upcoming Nubia Z70 Ultra on Weibo, which we have included below.
New Camera Features
The main camera of this device, featuring a 35 mm lens, is expected to have a variable aperture, setting it apart from many similar devices on the market. ZTE hasn't disclosed the maximum aperture range yet, but it is likely to be f/4.0. Additionally, Fei posted a brief video on his Weibo account that showcases the Nubia Z70 Ultra's primary camera at this same aperture setting.
Telephoto Technology
In addition, ZTE seems to be introducing innovative telephoto camera technology with this smartphone. However, the company has yet to provide details on the magnification or the equivalent focal length for this telephoto lens. Nevertheless, the close-up shots reveal a remarkable level of detail, free from the common artefacts that usually come with high zoom levels. To give context, the Nubia Z60 Ultra has a telephoto camera with an 85 mm lens offering 3.3x zoom. It appears that ZTE might hold off on releasing an updated version of the Nubia Z60 Ultra and Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version globally until early next year.
