Nothing Phone (2a) gets OS 2.6 update: new features, bug fixes

Earlier this week, the Nothing OS 2.6 update was released for the Nothing Phone (2). Now, the update is also being rolled out for the Phone (2a). This update primarily focuses on fixing various issues while introducing new features and enhancing the game mode.

New Features & Improvements

  • Introduced support for displaying the CMF Watch battery level in the Quick Settings Bluetooth tile.
  • Added a new swipable Date Widget.

Game Mode Enhancements

  • Tap the left sidebar for quick access to the Game Dashboard during games.
  • Incoming calls during games can now be shown in a pop-up.
  • Added support for rejecting third-party app calls during gameplay.
  • Support for one-tap callback after rejecting a call.
  • Optimized light notifications to display more information during games.
  • Support for blocking notifications during gameplay to minimize distractions.

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved an issue affecting voice and call recording in WhatsApp.
  • Fixed an issue causing the Atmosphere wallpaper effect to disappear in specific scenarios.
  • Resolved an issue causing the Lock Screen display to overlap in certain scenarios.
  • Fixed an issue where photo previews displayed incorrectly when taken in landscape mode while the device was locked.
  • Improved Portrait Mode in the camera to avoid incorrect blurring.
  • Optimized camera stability.
  • Other general bug fixes and experience improvements.

As with most firmware updates, the Nothing OS 2.6 update is being rolled out in stages. Users who have not yet received the OTA notification can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > System > System Update.
