The initial Developer Preview of Android 15 is now available for the Nothing Phone (2a). It's important to note that this update is exclusive to the Phone (2a) and is not yet accessible for the standard Phone (2) users. Nothing has rolled out the Android 15 update for the Phone (2a). Be sure to back up your data before updating, as the process will erase all existing data. The update introduces several new features, such as Glyph SDK support, new wallpapers, and the Nothing boot animation. However, fingerprint recognition and face unlock are not functional in this Android 15 build for the Phone (2a). Additionally, some exclusive features (X/Weather/Launcher/Recorder/Widgets) are missing in this build.

Here are the steps to install Android 15 on the Nothing Phone (2a). Please refer to the images below as well.
- Go to Settings > About phone > Software info to check if your phone is running the latest software version (Nothing OS 2.5.5a). If not, go to Settings > System > System update to check for updates and install the latest version.
- Download the Android 15 package file from the provided link.
- Create a folder named “ota” in your internal storage directory.
- Dial ##682## on your phone.
- In the newly opened window, select the update package you downloaded.
- Tap “Directly apply OTA from selection”.
- Wait until the update completes and then reboot your device.
Android 15 Installation for Nothing Phone (2a)
Installing Android 15 on the Nothing Phone (2a) is fairly simple, but keep in mind that it is Beta software, so you might encounter some bugs. If you are not satisfied with the new Beta update, you can follow the same steps to downgrade to the previous version, just make sure to select the rollback package before starting the process.
