Nothing has rolled out the Nothing OS 2.6 update for users of the Nothing Phone (1). This update, which was earlier made available for the Nothing Phone (2) and Phone (2a), introduces new features, enhancements to game mode, crucial bug fixes, and the July 2024 security patch.
Update Details
New Features & Experience Improvements:
- Four new wallpapers have been added.
- Wallpaper Studio now supports deleting wallpaper history.
- The security patch has been updated to July 2024.
Game Mode Enhancements
- Quickly access the Game Dashboard during games by tapping the left Game Sidebar.
- Incoming calls during games can now appear in a pop-up view.
- Added support for rejecting third-party app calls during gameplay.
- One-tap callback support after rejecting a regular call.
- Optimized light notifications to display more information during games in landscape mode.
- Support for blocking notifications during gameplay to minimize distractions.
Bug Fixes
- Improved the quick recovery mechanism for blocked data network connections to enhance network stability.
- Fixed an issue where some carriers allowed receiving calls but prevented making outgoing calls.
- Resolved a problem causing overlapping of the Lock Screen display in specific scenarios.
- Fixed an issue where some apps could not use the Cloned Apps feature correctly.
- Other general bug fixes.
As with most firmware updates, the Nothing OS 2.6 update is being released in stages. If you haven't yet received the OTA notification, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > System > System Update.
