With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 getting closer, rumors are still buzzing around. Recently, the supposed price of the console has been leaked. A newly found patent suggests that the Joy-Con might have a 180-degree flip feature, and there’s even talk that GTA 6 could debut on the Switch 2. The latest information focuses on the dock, with new CAD renderings now making the rounds.

Dock Details

The leaked pictures of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock come from a source on the Chinese platform Xiaohongshu. This leaker had previously shared CAD drawings of the console that looked very much like the real design. The latest images were also posted on Famiboards.

Changes in Design

The Switch 2 dock appears to be much rounder compared to the current version (which can be found on Amazon for $53). Many small holes on the bottom indicate there could be a better cooling system, probably needed due to the expected performance increase over the previous model. The ports are also interesting to mention. In addition to the usual HDMI output, the dock includes a LAN port, which allows for a more reliable wired connection instead of depending on WiFi. This benefit was once only for the Switch OLED, which was launched in 2021 (currently available on Amazon for $260).
