After much anticipation, Nikon has officially introduced the Nikon Z6 III, the newest member of its popular Z-mount mirrorless camera series. The Z6 III comes with a host of significant enhancements compared to its predecessor, including a much faster autofocus system, high-resolution video recording capabilities, and an exceptionally bright electronic viewfinder. Nikon had previously teased this release and set a launch date for June 17. The Z6 III is now available for $2499.
Enhanced Autofocus and Video Capabilities
According to Nikon, the Z6 III features a 20% faster autofocus system than the previous model. The camera is capable of shooting 4K videos at 120 FPS and 6K videos at 60 FPS. It supports 12-bit 6K N-RAW and ProRes RAW HQ, as well as 10-bit 5.4K ProRes 422 and H.265 recording. One of the standout features is its electronic viewfinder, which boasts a brightness of 4000 nits, making it the brightest EVF ever according to Nikon.

The Z6 III is powered by the EXPEED 7 high-speed image-processing engine, which enables Pre-Release Capture of up to 1 second before the shutter is fully pressed at a maximum speed of 120 FPS. Additionally, it can capture 24 MP images at 60 FPS, providing higher resolution than both the Z9 and Z8.
