Google Announces New Color Option for Pixel 8 Series
Google has revealed that its Pixel 8 series will soon be available in a new color option. The announcement was made through the company’s official Twitter account, where a binary sequence hinted at the arrival of a “Fresh year, fresh drop.” The accompanying link directs users to the Google Store, where a teaser video showcases the phrase “itsaliving” in Mint Green, giving a sneak peek of the upcoming color option.
Mural Painting Event in NYC
On January 25, 2024, Google will be hosting a mural painting event in downtown New York City with the artist @itsaliving. This event coincides with the reveal of the new color option for the Pixel 8 series.
Pixel 8 Series Overview
The Pixel 8 series was introduced in October 2023 and currently consists of two smartphones. There are rumors of a third model, the Pixel 8a, expected to be released later in 2024. The specific model that will receive the Minty Fresh color option is still a secret until next week.

The Pixel 8 Pro variant features a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display and is powered by the Google Tensor G3 chip. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The camera setup includes a 50MP primary rear camera, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The device is equipped with a 5050mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. In terms of security, it offers an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock. The Pixel 8 Pro is available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Bay, and soon, Mint Green.

The standard Pixel 8 features a 6.2-inch OLED display, 8GB of RAM, and a choice of 128GB or 256GB of storage. Its camera setup includes a 50MP primary rear camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The device is powered by a 4575mAh battery and shares similar security features with the Pixel 8 Pro. It is also IP68 dust and water-resistant. The standard Pixel 8 is available in Obsidian, Hazel, Rose, and soon, Mint Green.
