A couple of weeks ago, MSI introduced its newest series of QD-OLED gaming displays, which they highlighted at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. The highlighted products included the MPG 272URX QD-OLED and the MPG 272QR QD-OLED X50, often referred to as the MPG 272URX and MPG 272QR X50.
Availability and Pricing
Currently, MSI hasn’t revealed when these monitors will be available worldwide. However, ITHome has found that the MPG 272URX is now being sold in China on JD.com for a price of CNY 6,999 (approximately $965). Interestingly, this pricing is identical to that of last year’s MPG 271QRX, which is currently priced at $749.99 on Amazon and is effectively being replaced by the MPG 272URX.
Market Comparisons
It seems probable that the MPG 272URX will have a similar price point to the MPG 271QRX in other regions. MSI launched the MPG 271QRX in the United States last February at $799.99, with prices of £999.99 in the UK and €999.99 in the Eurozone. The MPG 272URX comes with several enhancements over its predecessor, largely due to the use of a newer QD-OLED panel.
Technical Improvements
For instance, the MPG 272URX has a native output resolution of 4K, providing 166 PPI, compared to the MPG 271QRX’s 1440p and 110 PPI. However, the MPG 272URX has a slightly lower refresh rate of 240 Hz but offers improved ports. For more information, please refer to our initial article regarding the launch of the MPG 272URX.
