MG May Launch New Compact EV in India with Baojun Yunduo Badge

MG recently teased a new vehicle set to debut in the Indian market, a compact pure electric car dubbed as "India’s first smart CUV." This model appears to be a rebranded version of the Baojun Yunduo from SAIC-GM-Wuling, based on the details presented in the preview.

This vehicle showcases a fresh design language, termed "Sky Aesthetics," characterized by a rounded front shape. It is reported that every variant will include LED headlights. The vehicle's profile features hidden D-pillars, concealed door handles, and five-spoke low-drag wheels.

Dimensions

The electric car measures 4295mm in length, 1850mm in width, and 1652mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2700mm.

Advanced Features

The Baojun Yunduo’s "Lingxi Edition" focuses on smart driving and comes equipped with the "Lingxi Intelligent Driving 2.0" system, a collaborative development by Baojun Automobile and DJI. Inside, the car boasts a 15.6-inch central control screen and electrically adjustable seats for both the driver and passenger. Exterior rearview mirrors offer electric adjustment and heating functionalities.

Battery and Performance

Baojun Yunduo utilizes lithium iron phosphate batteries. The 360 Plus and 360 Pro models feature a battery capacity of 37.9 kW⋅h, providing a range of 360km with 3.3kW charging support. The 460 Pro and 460 Max models come with a 50.6 kWh battery, offering a range of 460km and supporting 6.6kW charging. The driving motor delivers a maximum torque of 200 N⋅m and a top speed of 150km/h.

SAIC’s Feifan Automobile also announced its expansion plans at the Geneva Motor Show in February. The company introduced the Feifan F7 sedan and the Feifan R7 coupe SUV in its domestic market. These models have been rebranded as MG9 EV and MG S9 EV for their global debut under the MG brand, which is more recognized in international markets.
