JVC America, also called Victor in Japan, has launched its new Nearphones open-ear earbuds. These clip-on earbuds let users stay aware of important outside sounds, like emergency alerts, crying babies, and their bosses, at all times. This is a big difference from traditional headphones that cover the ears and block out outside noise. Users can choose to wear just one ear-clip if they prefer. They are also rated IPX4, meaning they can resist splashes of water.
Features and Connectivity
The HP-NP1T ear-clips come with Bluetooth 5.3, allowing connections to two devices at the same time. They support audio codecs SBC and AAC. For gamers, there's a low-latency mode to enhance responsiveness. The earbuds have a frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and are equipped with 10 mm drivers. Also, during conference call, a simple tap on the left ear-clip mutes the microphones for privacy.
Size and Performance
These Nearphones have dimensions of 0.9 x 0.7 x 1.1 in. (22.9 x 17.8 x 27.9 mm) and weigh just 0.17 oz (4.8 g). They offer up to eight hours of playtime and take 2 hours to fully recharge. If you're in a hurry, a quick charge of 10 minutes provides 60 minutes of use. The charging case is 1.06 x 2.52 x 1.57 in. (26.9 x 64.0 x 39.9 mm) and weighs 1.06 oz (30.1 g). Using a USB-C cable, it takes 2.5 hours to charge the case, which can recharge the Nearphones fully two times.
Pricing and Availability
The JVC Nearphones are priced at $99.95 and can be found on the JVC Store on Amazon. They are available in colors like black, maroon, ice gray, teal blue, and white.
