The Z70 Ultra is set to launch later this month, positioning it among the first devices to utilize the newly released Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. With this launch, ZTE aims to redefine mobile photography standards, featuring a 35 mm primary camera and advanced telephoto technology.

Impressive Camera System

In several posts on Weibo, ZTE President Ni Fei shared photography samples taken with the Nubia Z70 Ultra, allowing users to experience its photographic capabilities. While the specific aperture range hasn't been disclosed, the samples indicate that the camera can function at a remarkable f/4.0, which provides versatility for various lighting situations. Ni Fei also uploaded a video on his Weibo account demonstrating the camera's performance across different apertures, suggesting ZTE’s dedication to offering a professional-level photography experience.

Along with the main camera, the Z70 Ultra is rumored to bring in cutting-edge telephoto technology that can take close-up shots with impressive clarity. Although ZTE hasn’t yet announced details regarding the magnification or focal length of the telephoto lens, the images released show a high degree of detail without the usual artifacts seen in zoomed photos. For comparison, the Nubia Z60 Ultra comes with an 85 mm 3.3x telephoto camera, indicating that ZTE has likely made significant enhancements in the Z70 Ultra.

Performance Enhancements

Regarding performance, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset promises substantial improvements in both efficiency and power usage. Recently announced, the Snapdragon 8 Elite features an all-big-cores architecture aimed to compete with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400, achieving as much as a 45% increase in CPU performance and a 40% enhancement in GPU performance compared to earlier models. In addition, this new chipset is 44% more power-efficient, enabling smoother operation without sacrificing battery life.
