Honor Magic 6 Pro Specs: Camera, Display, Durability Revealed

Honor is gearing up to launch the Magic 6 Pro flagship phone on August 2 in India. Initially introduced earlier this year in China, the smartphone was globally unveiled at the MWC 2024 event in February. Ahead of its Indian debut, the brand has disclosed key features of the device.

Honor Magic 6 Pro’s Camera Capabilities

The Magic 6 Pro is equipped with an AI-powered Next-Gen Falcon Camera System, featuring a triple-lens setup. This includes a 50-megapixel main camera with a Super Dynamic Falcon Camera H9000 HDR sensor, a 180-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide and macro camera. The main sensor, which is the industry’s first 1/1.3-inch HDR sensor, improves dynamic range by 800%, enhancing detail and brightness even in bright scenarios. For selfies, it has a 50MP front camera, a wide-angle lens with an f/2.0 aperture, and a 3D depth camera, supporting 4K video recording at 30 FPS and 1080P at 30/60 FPS.

The device also aims to excel in sports photography with AI-advanced motion-sensing capabilities, designed to capture high-speed action accurately. The 180MP telephoto camera and large F1.49-inch sensor ensure clarity even for distant objects. Its f/2.6 wide aperture improves light sensitivity for quality low-light photography. The camera’s in-sensor zoom technology supports various zoom levels, including 2.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, making it ideal for capturing fast-paced activities.

Additionally, the Magic 6 Pro combines 16 light-capturing pixels into a larger 2.24μm equivalent pixel size for better low-light shots. The advanced shutter mechanism and Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) actuator enhance autofocus (AF) and optical image stabilization (OIS), providing fast and precise focusing capabilities. The ultra-large self-adjusting aperture allows users to toggle between f/1.4 and f/2.0, enhancing both bokeh effects and image sharpness. Honor’s AI Motion Sensing technology, trained with over 8 million images, further supports this by accurately detecting movements and facial expressions.

Honor Magic 6 Pro’s Display and Durability

The Magic 6 Pro has received DXO Mark Gold labels for its superior rear and selfie camera systems as well as for its display quality, underscoring its high standards. It features a 6.8-inch full-range Low Power Consumption LTPO display with a resolution of 2800 x 1280 pixels and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, ensuring sharp and vibrant visuals. With a peak HDR brightness of 5000 nits, the display remains clear even in bright conditions. The device supports Full Screen AOD (Always-on-Display) and Standby Mode, being the first Android smartphone to do so.

Certified by TÜV Rheinland, the Magic 6 Pro offers the highest PWM dimming frequency of 4320Hz, minimizing potential risks from digital displays and prioritizing user-eye safety. Features like Dynamic Dimming, Customized Circadian Night Display, and Nature Tone further enhance user comfort. The display, certified by Dolby Vision, delivers enhanced contrast, richer details, and vibrant colors, with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz for smooth visuals.

For durability, the Magic 6 Pro is equipped with Honor NanoCrystal Shield, which enhances screen toughness. Verified by SGS’s Five Star Overall Glass Drop Resistance certification, this shield offers exceptional protection against drops and boasts 10x the toughness of ordinary silica glass. Additionally, the device has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, making it reliable in various environments.
