The Honor 200 series, once speculated to launch in India, is now edging closer to reality. The Honor 200 Pro, which was initially released in China, has appeared on the BIS certification site, indicating its upcoming availability in the Indian market.
BIS Certification Details
The BIS certification listing shows the model number “ELP-NX9” for the Honor 200 Pro, approved on June 24th, 2024. Although the specific name isn’t listed, the global launch of the 200 series confirms that this model is the Pro variant. At present, only the Pro model is visible in the BIS database.
Display and Camera Specs
While details remain limited, earlier leaks suggest the Honor 200 Pro will feature a display with a 1.5K resolution and a single punch-hole cutout. The display is also expected to have a slightly curved design, akin to the Honor 100 Pro.
In terms of the camera, leaks indicate a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a common feature in premium smartphones. Additionally, a 32-megapixel telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom and a robust 50x digital zoom capability is anticipated.
Performance and Launch Timeline
Under the hood, the Honor 200 Pro is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm's top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The standard Honor 200 is expected to follow with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which offers a similar core architecture but potentially runs at slightly lower clock speeds, suggesting comparable performance between the two models.
Earlier leaks had hinted at a launch by the end of May for the Honor 200 series. However, with the June certification, a revised launch timeline seems likely. Pricing and additional details are still unknown, but more information is expected to surface in the coming days.
