Honor is gearing up to repeat its success from 2023 by using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip again for its upcoming performance smartphone, the 90 GT. There are rumors that they will do the same with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, expected to launch in late 2024 or early 2025.
Anticipated Features of the New Device
The new device might be named the "100 GT" or just "Honor GT," as suggested by the famous leaker Digital Chat Station. This source also claims that the phone will feature the distinctive dual rear camera design from the 100 series, but without the unusual double surrounds seen in previous models.
Camera and Battery Specs
In terms of design, the next GT is expected to sport a sleeker, more angular camera bump that will include at least one "50MP OIS" lens. Additionally, the smartphone might house a larger 100W battery within a flat-edged body, and offer options for RAM between 12GB and 16GB, with internal storage choices of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB.
Possible Drawbacks
However, the "Honor GT" could also come with certain limitations that point to its sub-premium status. The frame is rumored to be made of plastic instead of metal, and while it will likely feature a flat 1.5K display with an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, it's said to utilize LTPS technology rather than the more advanced LTPO tech.
