Gigabyte is expanding its AORUS FO lineup with a new monitor, the AORUS FO32U. This monitor positions itself as a more affordable option compared to the previously announced AORUS FO32U2, while retaining a high-quality Samsung 31.5-inch QD-OLED display.
The monitor has a ClearMR 9000 certification and a 1000 nits of peak brightness. The key differences between the two monitors lie in the refresh rate, display certification, and presence of RGB lighting. The AORUS FO32U features a 165Hz refresh rate, compared to the 240Hz of the FO32U2. It also carries the ClearMR 9000 certification instead of the higher-end ClearMR 13000, and lacks the RGB Fusion 2.0 lighting system found on its pricier sibling.
High-Quality Display and Performance
Despite these distinctions, the AORUS FO32U shares most of the impressive specs of the FO32U2. It boasts a sharp 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution (UHD), an incredibly fast 0.03ms (GTG) grey-to-grey response time, and a wide color gamut covering 99% of the DCI-P3 color space. Additionally, it delivers a typical brightness of 250 cd/m² and a peak brightness of 1000 nits, ensuring a vibrant and accurate visual experience.
Comprehensive Connectivity Options
In terms of connectivity, the AORUS FO32U offers a similar range of options as the FO32U2. This includes 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, 1x DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a versatile USB-C port featuring DP mode and 18W power delivery. Three USB 3.2-A ports provide additional connectivity for peripherals, while a 3.5mm headphone jack and microphone jack round out the selection. The monitor also boasts built-in 5W speakers and KVM functionality, allowing for easy switching between multiple devices connected to the monitor.
While pricing and availability details for the AORUS FO32U haven’t been revealed yet, it presents itself as an exciting option for those seeking a high-fidelity QD-OLED gaming experience at a potentially more attractive price point.
