Garmin Fenix 8 Beta Update Introduces New Keyboard Features

The Garmin Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Solar, Enduro 3, and Fenix E smartwatches are now updated to beta version 13.13. This is the second update in the 13.xx testing phase, which started with the larger version 13.12 release just a few weeks ago.

New Features and Improvements

According to the change log for beta version 13.13, there are 8 updates for these smartwatches. A new Layout Selection Menu has been added to the keyboard, along with an extra QWERTY keyboard option. Moreover, the keyboard now features a text prediction tool; however, this is only available for users who speak English. Additional updates include the Trolling Motor App nautical units and a datascreen update.

Bug Fixes and User Experience

Garmin has also fixed several issues, such as cropped emojis and the accidental re-enabling of the touch lock feature. An additional fix is related to the play/pause key arc on the Spotify Player. Users who are testing the beta version with a Fenix 8 or similar smartwatch can easily download version 13.13 by navigating to Main Menu > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. It's still uncertain when these new features and fixes will be available in a public release for Fenix 8 and Enduro 3 smartwatch users (currently priced at $851.49 on Amazon).

Conclusion

As Garmin continues to refine its smartwatch offerings, these updates showcase their commitment to improving user experience and functionality. Keep an eye out for the public release to take advantage of these enhancements!
