A recent beta update has been released for several Garmin smartwatches, including the Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro, Epix, Epix Pro, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2. The change log for the public beta version 19.30 highlights one enhancement and a few bug fixes.
Improvements in Messaging
A post on the Garmin forum states that the messaging related to course and location backups synced with the Explore App has been improved. Additionally, an issue affecting the Round Trip Routing feature, which sometimes led to the smartwatch shutting down unexpectedly, has been fixed. Furthermore, a problem where sleep data was not recorded has also been addressed. According to the post, over 50% of users with the Fenix 7 and similar smartwatches can now access the beta update, although it's uncertain when the full rollout will happen.
How to Access the Beta
To check for the beta version 19.30, users can navigate to Main Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Updates. It's important to mention that the ECG feature is turned off when beta software is installed. Owners of the Fenix 7 (currently priced at $433.56 on Amazon) and other compatible smartwatches can join the beta program through Garmin Connect. However, it is still unknown when the public release of the 19.xx software will be available for these devices.
Garmin's commitment to improving its products continues to show through these updates, as they address user feedback and enhance the overall experience.
