Dahon has just introduced its first extremely lightweight electric bicycle, named the K-Feather, in both North America and Europe. This electric bike showcases a folding design and is built entirely from aluminum. Weighing in at only 12 kg (26.5 lbs), the K-Feather measures 630 x 400 x 780 mm (24.8 x 15.7 x 30.7 inches) when it’s folded. The latest e-bike from Dahon is certainly compact, allowing for easy storage in small areas or convenient transport.

Competing Models

While the K-Feather is impressively light, it’s not the lightest option on the market. Other e-bikes like the LeMond Prolog at 11.8 kg (26 lb), the Trek Domane+ SLR at 11.75 kg (25.90 lbs), and the Hummingbird Flax folding e-bike at 10 kg (22 lbs) take the title for the lightest models available.

Motor and Battery

In terms of performance, Dahon has fitted the K-Feather with a 32 Nm 250 W rear hub motor. Although the maximum speed of this e-bike hasn’t been disclosed, the company asserts that it delivers excellent climbing ability and strong torque. The bike is powered by a 120 Wh battery, which provides a maximum assistance range of 40 km (24.85 miles) on a full charge.

Design and Features

Despite its three-step folding mechanism, the K-Feather is capable of supporting weights up to 231 lbs (105 kg). It comes equipped with features like 16” dual-wall rims, 14-gram stainless steel spokes, custom Dahon 20*1.75” tires, and forged aluminum 53-tooth chainring cranks. On the downside, the bike does not include an LED display on the handlebars and is missing app-based controls.

The Dahon K-Feather is available in six vibrant color choices: gray, black, yellow, green, slate, and pink. Its price tag is set at $1,119/€1,499. Currently, the e-bike can be bought in the US and is available for pre-order in Europe, with expected deliveries scheduled for September 2025.
