Though the laptop and tablet dock features have been removed from the final design, the main idea stays intact. The NexPhone is designed to serve as both a smartphone and a desktop computer.

    Dual Functionality

    In more detail, the NexPhone functions as an Android smartphone for mobile use, but it can also switch to Windows 11 with a simple restart. It even includes a special smartphone interface for Windows 11 that looks a lot like the old Windows Phone. When hooked up to an external monitor, this device is aimed at being a complete PC substitute. To make sure Windows 11 runs without a hitch, Nex Computer has chosen the Qualcomm QCM6490, which is officially compatible with Windows on ARM.

    Performance Specs

    This chipset is built on the Snapdragon 778G architecture, featuring four performance cores of ARM Cortex-A78 and four efficiency cores of Cortex-A55, which should provide decent performance. Because of this, the NexPhone is mostly suited for users with lighter PC demands, primarily for web browsing and office tasks. As a bonus, users have the option to run Debian instead of Windows 11. Additionally, NexPhone has a unique design characterized by a rounded body and a circular camera bump that also includes a speaker.

    Hardware Features

    The other specifications are similar to those of budget-friendly mid-range smartphones. The NexPhone boasts a 6.58-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2403 x 1,080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz, along with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage via microSD. With a thickness of 0.52 inches and a weight of 9.03 oz, this smartphone is on the thicker and heavier side, but it also offers water resistance. The 5,000mAh battery supports wireless charging, and the phone is equipped with a 10MP front camera, a 64MP primary camera, and a 13MP ultra-wide camera.

    The NexPhone is now available for preorder at the official online store of the manufacturer. The device is priced at $549, requiring a deposit of $199. The remaining balance of $350, along with any possible import and shipping charges, will be due at delivery, which is expected in the third quarter of 2026. Shipping options are available to numerous European nations. In addition to the smartphone, customers will also receive a USB-C hub that adds two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and one HDMI port to the phone.
