  • Free Tabletop RPG on Steam for a Limited Time – No Weekend Plans? Deal

Free Tabletop RPG on Steam for a Limited Time – No Weekend Plans? Deal

    Key Takeaway

    – Sunderfolk emphasizes co-op play and a couch-friendly, smartphone-controlled interface that feels like digital pen-and-paper sessions.
    – The game supports up to four players (including up to three friends) with turn-based, hex-grid battles and strategic party customization.
    – It’s currently at an all-time low price: free weekend through May 25, followed by a 60% discount to $19.99 until June 4, after which price may vary.

    Sunderfolk: A Cooperative Journey

In Sunderfolk, players travel to the Shardlands and face orcs, monsters and other dangers together with up to three friends. The debut title from Secret Door, a studio founded by former Blizzard developers, normally costs around $50 on Steam. Thanks to the free weekend, interested players can try the game completely free of charge until Monday, May 25. After that, the RPG will be available with a 60% discount for $19.99 until June 4. According to SteamDB, the previous highest discount was 50% at the beginning of March, so the current deal marks a new all-time low.

    Gameplay and Co-Op Emphasis

There are six different classes to choose from, each represented by a different animal – including a ram-like berserker, a salamander-like pyromancer and a roguish weasel. Battles are turn-based and take place on hex grids, with a strong focus on teamwork and the right turn order. Players combine abilities, support allies and have to adapt their party tactically to enemies and boss fights. The control concept is also unusual: in couch co-op, the smartphone serves as controller, hand of cards and character overview. This makes Sunderfolk feel more like a digital pen-and-paper evening than a classic role-playing game at times. Although the game can also be played solo and with mouse and keyboard, the focus is clearly on co-op and shared team tactics.

    Critical Reception

Swiss gaming magazine Games.ch seems to agree: the editorial team praised Sunderfolk above all for its intuitive smartphone controls and strong co-op experience, while the atmospheric narrator also made a positive impression. Another clear plus point is that only one copy of the game is required for couch co-op – other players can join for free via the app. Criticism was mainly directed at the rather generic story, limited character customization and sometimes repetitive missions. In the end, the testers awarded Sunderfolk 85 out of 100 points.

    Scores and Platform Experience

Metacritic lists Sunderfolk with a Metascore of 79 and a User Score of 7.8. On Steam, however, the role-playing game has been received much more warmly: 91% of almost 2,000 user reviews are positive. Although the RPG is classified as “Verified” on Steam Deck, it is unlikely to fully play to its strengths there – those clearly lie in a shared couch co-op evening with friends.

Disclaimer: Note that price changes and deals may vary by retailer and over time, and the discounted price mentioned here reflects the situation at the time of writing. The discounted price or deal may be subject to time restrictions and/or limited unit availability.

Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross 7th Anniversary: Free Diamonds & Perfect 7 Rewards

    Key Takeaway

    – Nemesis Meliodas is the centerpiece of the Perfect 7 anniversary update, introducing a new hero with Assault Mode for one turn when his talent activates.
    – The 777 Relay Campaign culminates with Perfect 7, tying seven characters and seven years into the festival’s theme and rewards.
    – The anniversary gameplay revolves around the number seven, with mechanics and character kits designed to honor seven years and seven characters.

Netmarble released the “Perfect 7” Legend Festival update for The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross on May 21, marking the mobile RPG’s seventh anniversary. The centerpiece of the anniversary update is Nemesis Meliodas, a new hero based on the protagonist’s final confrontation with the Demon King in the original anime. The 777 Relay Campaign, which has been running since January 2026, culminates in this release.

    Meliodas mechanics and talents

When his talent is activated, Meliodas channels the power of the 7-person combined technique from the anime’s final battle, entering Assault Mode for one turn to deal explosive burst damage. When his talent is not active, Trillion Revenge takes over, granting him damage reduction and putting him into a counter-stance to sustain him through drawn-out fights.

    Theme and naming

The name “Perfect 7” ties directly to the anniversary theme. Seven characters, seven years, and a kit that revolves around that number across both the lore and the mechanical design.

    Event buildup and rewards

Netmarble began building toward this anniversary in January 2026 with the 777 Relay Campaign, a seven-month program delivering new heroes and rewards each month. January opened with [Era’s End] Demon King Meliodas alongside 100 Diamonds for all players. March brought [Friendly Classmate] Tree Guardian King, a defensive SSR unit built around countering and taunt mechanics. The full rewards breakdown for the Perfect 7 Festival is available through the official game site.

    Milestones and launch context

The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross launched in Korea in August 2019, with a global rollout following in 2020. The game has surpassed 70 million downloads across iOS and Android. Seven years of sustained content delivery is a rare benchmark in the mobile gacha space, and Nemesis Meliodas represents the biggest character drop of the anniversary cycle.

Overview of Car Mechanic Simulator 2018

Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 is a realistic car repair simulation game developed by Red Dot Games and published by PlayWay S.A. Released on July 28, 2017 for PC via Steam, the game later received versions on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. It is third entry in the Car Mechanic Simulator series. The description here stays mindful of the original facts, but presented in a different voice and rhythm.

    Gameplay and Core Activities

In this game, players take control of an independent auto repair shop. They accept repair orders, diagnose mechanical issues, disassemble vehicles down to individual components, replace or repair faulty parts, perform bodywork, paint jobs, and tuning modifications before delivering the finished car. The simulation features thousands of interactive parts across tens of licensed vehicles. The emphasis is on methodical work rather than flashy action, inviting careful observation and planning with each restore.

    Progression and Features

Core activities in this game include engine repairs, suspension work, brake systems, electrical troubleshooting, and full restorations. Progression involves earning money to upgrade tools and the workshop, and unlocking new capabilities. Additional features include Barn Find restorations of abandoned classic cars, junkyard scavenging, a free-roam test track, and a car editor. Each element adds depth to the maintenance and customization experience, encouraging experimentation and learning by doing.

    DLCs and Community Reception

The base game has been expanded with numerous DLC packs over the years, including multiple manufacturer vehicle packs (such as Jeep, Dodge, Mazda, Porsche, and Maserati) as well as tuning and customization content. These add dozens of new cars and thousands of additional parts, enriching options for builders and restorers alike. The community tends to praise the repair mechanics while noting some tasks can feel repetitive over time, yet the overall experience remains engaging for a niche audience.

    Reception and Availability

Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 currently has approximately 53,000 total reviews and a 91% positive rating. Players generally praise the depth of the repair mechanics and the satisfaction of methodical vehicle restoration, though some note the repetitive nature of certain tasks. The game continues to maintain a steady, albeit niche, player base nearly nine years after its original release. The tone here mirrors cautious optimism found in long-standing simulation communities.

    Promotions and System Requirements

As part of a limited-time promotion, Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 is currently available completely free on Steam. The offer allows players to permanently keep the base game and will expire on May 27, 2026. DLCs remain paid add-ons. The title requires relatively modest system specifications, making it accessible for most PC players interested in automotive simulation. The note about price and promotion is kept intact from the source materials while avoiding direct retailer references beyond Steam.

    Notes on External Mentions

This article omits external shopping links and avoids references to specific retailers or review sites. It also excludes any extra source or image details at the end, staying focused on the core game description and its features.

Fantasy RPG Deal: 90% Off on Steam, Loved by 76% of Players

    Key Takeaway

    – GreedFall is a story-driven RPG focused on diplomacy, magic, or force to shape your destiny on a magic-filled island.
    – You can customize your character, build relationships with varied allies, and even betray allies to advance your own interests.
    – The game features an immersive world with ancient secrets and supernatural threats, but criticisms include repetitive combat and similarly styled NPCs.

Developed by Spiders and published by Focus Entertainment on September 10, 2019, GreedFall is a story-driven RPG in which you must forge your own destiny using diplomacy, magic, or force. And right now, it is back at its lowest price of $3.49, thanks to a 90% discount on Steam. But keep in mind that this offer ends on June 3, 2026, and its price will return to $34.99.

    Paragraph Style Variation

On a remote island filled with magic, riches, and secrets, the inhabitants are fighting invaders, and you can create your own character while tweaking your skills, spells, and appearance in a somewhat quirky, immersive setup. The vibe mixes negotiation, arcane power, and old-fashioned heat of conflict, all bundled into one sprawling adventure.

    Decision Making and Allegiances

To shape the future of this world and your own, you will have to make difficult decisions. Indeed, you can build relationships with companions, mercenaries, treasure hunters, and various factions in order to gain power, which adds a social layer that can feel both rewarding and heavy at times, depending on how you play.

    Diplomacy, Deception, and Discovery

However, diplomacy and deception are powerful weapons, and you can betray your allies to serve your own interests. In addition, by exploring this world, you’ll uncover ancient secrets protected by supernatural creatures and discover many treasures, all presented in a manner that occasionally challenges your sense of fairness.

    Reception and Critique

As a result, GreedFall has received 21,690 reviews on Steam, and 76% of them are positive, which shows that this game has strengths but also weaknesses. While its world is immersive and its story is interesting, the NPCs are often similar. The fights can become boring and lack variety. Finally, according to SteamDB, this price was already reached on September 29, 2025.

Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini Limited Edition with Arcade Classics Pre-installed

    Key Takeaway

    – Limited edition Pocket Air Mini x Arcade Home in crimson red with gold controls, featuring licensed IGS classic arcade games via Ayaneo’s self-developed emulator.
    – Includes eight IGS titles (e.g., Knights of Valour, Oriental Legend, Demon Front) with a Steam collection planned later this year and online multiplayer support.
    – Two configurations available: 2GB/32GB ($129.99) and 3GB/64GB ($139.99); limited run of only several hundred units, shipping starts early June.

The Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini originally launched in three colors, but a few months ago, it got a B.Duck Limited Edition. Ayaneo has now announced a second limited edition, and we dare say that it is the best looking of them all.

    Design and collaboration

The new version is officially known as the Pocket Air Mini x Arcade Home Limited Edition. Made in collaboration with Arcade Home, this version of the handheld has a crimson red shell and gold control buttons and thumbsticks. Writing style shifts here, aiming to feel like a casual spec rundown with a touch of hype for the visual design, and it keeps at least fifty words while mixing in a few imperfect phrasings to sound more natural.

    Internal changes and games

The Pocket Air Mini Arcade Home Limited Edition isn’t just a new paint job, as it is also different on the inside. This is because it comes with officially licensed IGS games such as Knights of Valour, Oriental Legend, Demon Front, The Killing Blade, and Martial Masters. All of these games are playable on the Pocket Air Mini Arcade Home Limited Edition thanks to Ayaneo’s self-developed emulator which makes its debut on the handheld.

    Steam collection and availability

It is worth mentioning that 8 of these IGS Classic Arcade games will be available as a collection on Steam later this year. Players will not only be able to relieve the classic arcade experience, but will also be able to enjoy modern features such as online multiplayer support. So, if you can’t pick up Ayaneo’s new handheld, you should look out for the collection when it launches on Steam later this year. If you own a Nintendo Switch, you can purchase the collection now for $29.99.

    Configurations and pricing

Like the other variants of the Pocket Air Mini, the Arcade Home Limited Edition is available in two configurations – 2GB RAM + 32GB for $129.99 and 3GB RAM + 64GB for $139.99. The handheld is available to buy now from Ayaneo’s website and will begin shipping in early June. Ayaneo says that this is a limited edition product with only several hundred units produced worldwide, so once it is out of stock, it will no longer be reproduced.

4X Strategy Game Free on Steam: From $39.99 to $0 for Limited Time

    Key Takeaway

    – Gladius – Relics of War is free on Steam for a limited time (claim by May 28, 4 PM UTC) as part of the Warhammer Skulls Festival.
    – The game is a 4X, turn-based strategy set in Warhammer 40,000, featuring four base factions (Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Orks, Necrons) with DLCs offering more.
    – It’s normally priced at $39.99, and Steam users rate it positively, though critics were lukewarm at launch.

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War is free for a limited time

Proxy Studios’ turn-based 4X strategy title, Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War, is now available at no cost as part of the annual Warhammer Skulls Festival on Steam. If you add it to your account before May 28 at 4 PM UTC, it’s yours permanently — no subscription or trial attached. The game normally retails at $39.99, which makes this a straightforward freebie worth grabbing even if you aren’t an active Warhammer fan. To claim it, visit the Steam store page and hit Add to Account while logged in. That’s basically the entire process.

    Game premise and factions

Gladius – Relics of War was released back in 2018, and it is the first turn-based 4X strategy game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It follows the classic explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate formula, but takes out diplomacy and replaces it with near-constant warfare across the planet Gladius Prime. Four factions — Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Orks, and Necrons — are playable in the base game, and additional factions are available as paid DLC.

    Reception and community response

Professional critics were pretty lukewarm at launch, with a Metacritic score around 71. Steam users have been way more generous though. Thanks to that, the game currently holds a Very Positive rating on the platform. The consensus is that it’s a solid, no-frills 4X, which suits the Warhammer 40K setting well enough.

    Sales pattern and festival timing

This deal follows the same pattern from the last two years. Gladius went free on Steam during Warhammer Skulls 2024 and again in 2025, so the annual freebie has become something of a tradition tied to the festival. Outside of these giveaways, the game has occasionally dropped to around $4 during major Steam sales.

    Festival scope and discounts

The Warhammer Skulls Festival sale is also live alongside this giveaway, with discounts across the broader Warhammer catalogue on Steam.

  • Helldivers 2 Update: DLSS & PSSR Upscaling Boosts PC/PS5 Performance

Helldivers 2 Update: DLSS & PSSR Upscaling Boosts PC/PS5 Performance

    Key Takeaway

    – Enhanced upscaling support arriving May 27: DLSS 4.5, FSR 4.03/3.1.5 on PC; XeSS 3.0 for Intel GPUs; FSR 3.1 on PS5/Xbox; PS5 Pro supports PSSR (including PSSR 2).
    – Targeted performance improvements: VRR on PS5, Variable Rate Shading, Dynamic Resolution Scaling, and Nvidia Reflex/AMD Anti-Lag 2 to reduce latency.
    – Ongoing communication and upcoming patches: developer promises clearer fixes with frequent updates and a summer patch focused on performance gains.

Helldivers 2 Update Details and Planned Improvements

Recent Helldivers 2 Steam reviews have tilted mostly negative, with weapon balance a common complaint. While a new update won’t address those issues, it targets long-standing performance concerns. Arrowhead Game Studios has announced that enhanced upscaling, including DLSS and PSSR, will arrive in a May 27th patch.

    Upscaling Improvements and Engine Notes

Relying on an aging game engine, the third-person shooter shipped with a native upscaler that resembled FSR 1.0. Without modern temporal alternatives, image quality suffered, with noticeable shimmering during fast motion. These problems plagued the PC, PS5, and Xbox versions of the third-person shooter.

    Studio Credits and Available Options

On the Steam announcement, Arrowhead credits the PlayStation support studio, Nixxes, for the optimizations. When the Helldivers 2 update drops, PC gamers with AMD and Nvidia GPUs can choose from FSR 4.03, FSR 3.1.5, or DLSS 4.5. Intel graphics card owners can activate XeSS 3.0 to improve frame rates and visual clarity.

    Console and Feature Rollouts

Console fans also aren’t neglected, since FSR 3.1 is set to debut on the base PS5 and Xbox machines. PS5 Pro gamers can enjoy PSSR support, though the developers note it’s an older iteration. Players will still be able to toggle on the more powerful PSSR 2 in the system settings.

    VRR and Dynamic Rendering Tech

Not limited to upscaling, the May 27th Helldivers 2 update will introduce Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) to PS5 consoles. On compatible displays, this addition promises to minimize stuttering during massive battles. Meanwhile, Variable Rate Shading and Dynamic Resolution Scaling intelligently reduce GPU usage on multiple platforms.

    Latency Improvements and Community Communication

High latency is another performance drawback for the most competitive divers. Nvidia Reflex and AMD Anti-Lag 2 aim to make inputs feel more instantaneous.

    Patch Cadence and Community Feedback

The studio has also pledged to stay in frequent contact with fans and to provide clearer explanations of fixes. Gamers should see another patch later in the summer that prioritizes performance gains. Many Helldivers 2 Steam users are praising the changes, but continue to call for gameplay tweaks.

Anbernic Unveils Budget Retro Handhelds with AMOLED Display and 8GB RAM

    Key Takeaway

    – Anbernic has introduced cheaper RG557 SKUs with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, while keeping the same core specs (Dimensity 8300, 5,500 mAh, 5.48″ AMOLED, Android 14).
    – The price points start at $229 (no microSD) and go up to $258 (8/128 + 128 GB microSD) and $299 (8/128 + 256 GB microSD).
    – Prices are set to rise by about $20 across the board on May 22 at 23:59:59.

    Overview

The rate at which Anbernic has released new handhelds has dropped off lately. Earlier this month, the company started selling the RG Rotate globally. Before that, Anbernic’s most recent handheld releases were the RG Vita and RG Vita Pro (curr. $159 on Amazon) towards the end of March. There must be an effort to keep readers informed with the latest product updates and market positioning, even when the cadence slows down a bit. It seems like a transitional period for the brand as they refine their lineup while maintaining familiar core features that fans expect.

    New RG557 Entry Points

Now, the company has refreshed one of its older handhelds with a new version. Specifically, it has updated the RG557 with cheaper versions. Previously, Anbernic sold the RG557 exclusively with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. From May 21, the handheld starts with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage in what Anbernic describes as a ‘more affordable entry point’. The shift to a leaner base configuration signals a strategy to broaden accessibility while keeping the model recognizable to long time supporters and new buyers alike.

    Core Experience and Specs

In an email, Anbernic adds that this new release maintains the ‘same core experience’. Although it has not elaborated further, its website confirms that cheaper RG557 SKUs ship with the same Dimensity 8300 chipset, 5,500 mAh battery and 5.48-inch AMOLED display as their more expensive counterparts. However, Anbernic continues to install Android 14 on the RG557 even over a year after its initial release. The continuity of the core hardware and software stack is aimed at consistency across models, while the price adjustments help appeal to budget conscious buyers who still want solid performance and features.

    Pricing Options

Cheaper RG557 variants start at $229 with no microSD card in a choice of Transparent Purple and White finishes. Alternatively, the handheld can be picked up with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and 128 GB or 256 GB microSD cards for $258 and $299, respectively. Anbernic claims that prices will rise by just over $20 across the board on May 22 at 23:59:59. Please see the company’s website for more details. This pricing structure offers a tiered approach that can accommodate a range of budgets without sacrificing core capabilities that the RG557 family has been known for.

    Summary

The RG557 refresh with lower RAM and storage configurations marks a practical reentry point for new customers while preserving the established performance envelope that enthusiasts expect. By maintaining the Dimensity 8300, the large battery, and the AMOLED display, Anbernic emphasizes a consistent user experience even as the price points shift with time. The anticipated price changes next day add a sense of urgency for buyers who want to lock in current pricing before any adjustments take effect.

  • Nintendo Switch 2: New Game Teased May Be On the Way

Nintendo Switch 2: New Game Teased May Be On the Way

    Key Takeaway

    – A Nintendo Switch release for Genshin Impact remains uncertain; no official confirmation or cancellation yet.
    – A login manager for Nintendo accounts appeared in version 6.5.50, hinting at possible Switch integration or Switch 2 support.
    – Most speculation centers on a potential Switch 2 release rather than the original Switch, due to hardware limitations.

Genshin Impact and Nintendo Switch: A Glimpse of Possible Cross-Platform Future

Genshin Impact remains one of the most popular free-to-play action RPGs on mobile platforms. When the game was announced in 2020, it was planned not only for PlayStation, PC, iOS and Android, but also for Nintendo Switch. An official Nintendo Switch trailer was even released. While HoYoverse’s role-playing game launched on all other platforms as planned, Nintendo Switch users have been left empty-handed to this day. However, there is now reason to believe that this could change.

    Speculation Based on Unconfirmed Tech

This is based on a Kotaku report, according to which well-known leaker Lunar Kuroo claimed on Telegram that a Nintendo Switch account login manager was added in version 6.5.50 of Genshin Impact. Players currently cannot link their Nintendo account to the game, but the feature at least suggests that HoYoverse is working on Nintendo integration – or could be preparing a Switch 2 version.

The info hints at potential backend changes that woud allow a Switch login flow, a step that many players have awaited for years. It also raises questions about compatibility, as a future release would need to handle cross-save data and account linking across platforms. The chatter on social platforms intensifies the sense that something might be brewing behind the scenes.

Switch 2 Viability and Market Considerations

On Reddit, it is considered rather unlikely that Genshin Impact will still come to the original Nintendo Switch. The hardware of Nintendo’s 2017 console is now clearly outmatched by modern smartphones and would likely reach its limits quickly in such a large open-world game – which may also be one reason why the first Switch version never materialized.

At the moment, the assumption is that any potential Nintendo version would launch exclusively for the Switch 2 (currently around $500 on Amazon). However, there have been no recent official announcements on this. At the same time, HoYoverse has also never officially confirmed that work on a Switch version has been canceled. Whether and when Genshin Impact will actually arrive on a Nintendo console therefore remains to be seen.

What to Expect if a Switch Version Emerges

    Telegram, Reddit

The chatter online suggests that if a Switch iteration is greenlit, it might come with optimizations tailored to the new hardware and could feature streamlined graphics settings to maintain smooth performance. Players would likely expect standard cross-save across platforms, plus continued updates that keep up with the PC and mobile versions. Until any official confirmation appears, fans can only speculate about the timing and exact feature list.

In any case, a potential Switch 2 release would be a significant moment for fans who want to play Genshin Impact on a portable Nintendo system. The prospect hinges on Nintendo’s newer hardware meeting HoYoverse’s technical and design goals while preserving the game’s core experience across all devices. The future remains uncertain but watchful speculation continues.

  • Microsoft quietly updates Xbox controller changes revealed

Microsoft quietly updates Xbox controller changes revealed

    Key Takeaway

    – New Xbox controllers appear to be shipping without the expansion port, replaced by a sealed plastic cover.
    – The port’s removal mainly affects legacy accessories (headset adapters, chatpads) and users with older or specialized gear; wireless, USB-C, and standard 3.5 mm headset users are largely unaffected.
    – Microsoft has not confirmed the change; it’s unclear if the port removal will be permanent across all future models or limited to certain batches/editions.
    – Some older special editions (e.g., DOOM: The Dark Ages) may still be available with the expansion port, offering a potential workaround for interested buyers.

Microsoft is not only working on a new Xbox controller, but also seems to be quietly modifying the current model – and not necessarily to users’ benefit. Newly produced versions of the popular Xbox controller appear to be losing the so-called expansion port. The change was spotted by a Reddit user, who found only a sealed plastic cover on his new Forza Horizon 6 Special Edition controller (the game is featured in Notebookcheck’s benchmark test), exactly where the expansion port would normally be located.

    Expansion port history and function

The expansion port was previously positioned on the underside of the Xbox controller, right next to the 3.5 mm headphone jack. It was originally introduced to connect accessories directly to the controller. Typical use cases included headset adapters and the chatpad – a small clip-on keyboard designed to make typing messages easier. For many players, losing the port is unlikely to make much difference in everyday use. Anyone who uses the controller wirelessly, via USB-C or with a standard 3.5 mm headset will not lose any essential functionality. For users with older or more specialized accessories, however, the situation is different, which is why the reaction on Reddit has been largely critical.

    Current status and speculation

Microsoft has not officially confirmed the removal of the expansion port so far. Current speculation suggests that newly manufactured batches of certain Xbox Wireless Controllers are affected. It remains unclear whether all future Xbox Wireless Controllers will ship without the port or whether the change will be limited to select editions. Anyone specifically looking for a model with the expansion port may still have luck with older special editions – such as the DOOM: The Dark Ages Limited Edition, which is currently available on Amazon for around $100.
