Casio has launched its new G-Shock Virtual Mix Collection in Japan, which includes three models that integrate industrial style with contemporary looks. The models are GA-B001MW-8AJF, GD-B500MW-8JF, and GA-2300MW-8A, all featuring a unique gray and neon green color palette.
Design and Features
The GA-B001MW-8AJF stands out with its Carbon Core Guard and resin casing. It has a hybrid analog-digital display illuminated by bright green hour markers. Unlike the classic bulky G-Shock, this watch offers a sleeker and more angular design, making it ideal for city life. It comes with Bluetooth support for connecting to smartphones, allowing for functions like automatic time updates and a phone-finding feature. The battery lasts up to two years, thanks to power-saving modes and low-battery notifications.
Additional Model Details
On the other hand, the GD-B500MW-8JF skips the carbon build but incorporates fitness tracking with a step counter that connects to smartphones. Its large negative LCD screen improves visibility while keeping the sleek look of the series. Both watches come equipped with G-Shock’s key features, including world time, a 1/100-second stopwatch, and several daily alarms.
Collection Overview and Pricing
This entire collection marks a significant design shift for G-Shock, showcasing cases that seem more inspired by architecture than previous models. The matte gray finish on the main bodies lends a more refined appearance, while the angular designs and bold geometric shapes suggest that Casio drew influence from modern tech gadgets and gaming devices.
The GA-B001MW-8AJF is priced at ¥22,550 ($150), and the GD-B500MW-8JF costs ¥20,900 ($139) in Japan. Although the GA-2300MW-8A is featured in promotional content, its pricing and availability details are still unknown. The release dates for international markets have yet to be confirmed.
